4 stars Formatted aspect ratio a poor choice for this release
Briefly, this is a fun movie and a descent DVD, except that it really deserves to be seen in wide-screen. There are beautiful landscapes we don't get the full effect of, and scenes where the characters are on the far edges of the screen, instead of the balanced picture originally intended -- these are a couple examples. Tanya Roberts looks pretty natural around the animals -- an elephant, and a horse painted like a zebra, which she hops on and off of fluidly. She looks healthier than in The Beastmaster, wherein she's "skin & bones" thin. There were some other movies out around the same time as Sheena that also had both PG rating and a few scenes of non-sexual nudity, Clash of the Titans & The Bounty, to name a couple; for some reason we don't see this anymore. I'd say only Clash of the Titans, among these, is a family movie though.

3 stars Sheena still has sheen
When Sheena The Queen of the Jungle (Tanya Roberts) clashes with unscrupulous big city types, she calls on her animal friends -- Marika the zebra, Kima the jaguar, Katula and Keibar the lions, and Tiki and Chiki the chimps -- to help her rumble in the jungle. With the exception of a replica rhino head and some phony flamingoes, the carnivorous animals in Sheena are real and usually just a hair's breadth away from the actors. Marika the zebra is portrayed by an Arabian horse adorned with artistically painted stripes.

The movie's definitely dated, but it's a true guilty pleasure and anyone who enjoys an old-style jungle adventure won't be disappointed.

1 stars And the jungle reeked for days...
Tanya can't act her way out of a - well, anything, but she can get out of any clothing whatever, and the gratuitous shots from below as she climbs trees and swings from ropes are great good fare for pubescent teenage boys without much of a social life. Fred Wass does what he does best, wanders around on cue and collects a paycheck for no obvious reason. Any one over the age of eighteen will want to drink a lot of beer while wasting time with this.

5 stars ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES OF AFRICAN WORLD
I love this film, I think Tanya Roberts is an excellent actress, and the rest of the cast have made a good roll too; I really liked the work of France Zobda (Jeena's spiritual guide), she and Tanya are a very special pair in the film; Ted Wass made very good work as Sheena's boyfriend; I like all of the scenes, the film is completely: a lot of drama, romance, action and comedy too, the story is excellent (a mad prince kills his brother the king and accuse the zambulli's spiritual woman guide, and Sheena had to protect her and the zambulli people who was going to be killed); the film also has a wonderful shots of the African paradise, enjoy it!

5 stars Tanya, my love
Worth it for Tanya's 2 bathing scenes. I knew the girl had talent.
