Avg Customer Rating:
Product Description: The absorber® was designed over 30 years ago to dry cars and trucks. It is the ORIGINAL PVA shammy. The super absorbent power of the absorber® not only dries your car quickly, but leaves a streak free finish behind. Once the absorber® is saturated with water simply wring it out and continue drying your vehicle. For the hood of your car we recommend that you lay the absorber flat on the surface and pull it across the hood, trunk, or car top. Let the absorber do the work for you as it sucks up the water as you move across the surface of your vehicle. You can fold the absorber to dry the side panels of your vehicle. The absorber can be used to dry the nooks and crannies of your vehicle. This is a distinct advantage over blade type and other drying devices.
The absorber® is reinforced with a mesh scrim for added durability and strength, but has NO surface fibers which makes it safe for all paint finishes. It also will not remove wax from your vehicle as you dry it. It is resistant to most chemicals. It is unharmed by grease and oils. Best of all the absorber® is machine washable and will last for years.

Does The Job Well, But Not Perfect
Works very well at absorbing water. So much so, that I'm constantly ringing the water out of it while drying the car. Practical though, because you don't have to waste a bunch of regular towels - just squeeze it and reuse. Has the texture of a thin piece of leather. Doesn't scratch the paint, unless you get some dirt caught in it. And if you clean the car thoroughly first, that won't happen. It does need to be put away damp though. If you don't it'll dry out very stiff. It claims not to grow mold/mildew, even when stored wet, though I haven't tested that out long-term. Short-term (two weeks) it seemed fine.
Disadvantages:
* It tends to not absorb all the water, even when you start. It'll leave small thin streaks on the car which you have to pass over again.
* There's a relatively high amount of friction in the material, so it's hard to move it across the car. After a few minutes of use it improves a bit.
* Dirt stains refuse to come out easily - wouldn't recommend it for washing.
If I had opportunity to buy again, at the right price, I would. But it's not the ultimate answer to the best car-drying towel.

Excellent drier
Product does exactly what it says, despite feeling like you're drying with a piece of rubber. We dried two sedans in about 3 minutes each using a single one. Also, works well for drying pets!
A note - this is cheaper if purchased directly from Target, plus get your choice of color.

Far Superior
Bought this because I couldn't find the old animal skin I used years ago.
I found this is much better than any other drying cloth I have owned.
Works great with the California Car Duster Water Blade.

Worth Every Penny!
I've used one of these for over five years and it still works great! It is rare when you can find a product that does what is says and lasts as long as this one does. Just remember to put it away in its container and roll it up damp. Amazing!

Super absorbent
This is a super absorbent product. For the price I would like twice the size but it works pretty good.
