Customer Reviews
Can't beat the value
I keep trying to find a reason why I should go buy the Thule or Yakima hitch-mounted rack...but I just do not believe that they are worth the ~$120 more than this rack costs.
We used the hitchbiker 2 up through the mountains of California on a week-long trip. The rack was really stable and the bikes never moved.
In my opinion, there are only 2 significant differences between this one and the more expensive versions.
-The "fork" on the Bell does not fold down when not in use. This isn't really a big deal for me, but should be noted.
-The velcro hold-downs on the Bell aren't the greatest. The Yakima or Thule rubber straps are much more secure. This is cured by using a bungee cord around the bikes and through the lock-hole of the rack...and you're done. So a pretty simple solution, but also good to know before buying.
Besides those things, I have no complaints. I am using it with a 2" receiver, and Bell provides a 1.25" > 2" "C" adapter, and I found it to be really snug and secure. I had zero wobble, which was something I have seen in the other racks. It folds down just like the others do.
Even if something were to break down the line and I had to buy another, it would be still be less money out of pocket than buying just one of the alternatives.

Bell Hitchbiker 2-bike hitch mount rack
Pros:
-Easy to assemble.
-Strong and well built
-Light weight
-Great value
Cons:
-Need extra bungee cord to secure bikes
-Hitch pin is threaded so I need to carry a wrench to remove/install (I don't keep the rack on the car all the time)
-Rack sways at highway speeds
Overall:
Like it a lot. Wanted a simple 2 bike rack and this delivered. Just need to do a little extra to make sure everything is secured the way I like it (extra bungee cord, adding rubber washers to the tilt pin will firm up the rack and stop the swaying).

Car bike rack
Received 2 bike rack quickly and in excellent condition.
Installed on car smoothly and bike mounts very well.
Only weak link is the velcro bike tie downs probably will
not hold up well in the weather.

Good product for the price
I have now used this Bell hitch bike mount several times and think it delivers good value for the money. I use it on a Honda S2000 so I don't need the folddown feature but it secures the bike well and is comparably easy to put on and take off. Also the price is right. I just can't see spending the extra money for the high end bike racks. After all it is just a BIKE RACK. Two caveats: 1) It is important to tighten the hitch mounting bolt well since that is what keeps the unit from swaying; 2) The bike(s) will travel much better if you secure the inside pedal to the upright and secure the front wheel to the frame with either velcro ties, bungies or rope, this keeps the bike stable on the rack and keeps your front wheel from moving back and forth and perhaps hitting your bumper. You can get the ties or bungies at most hardware stores.

Bell Bike Rack
This is a fairly good solution to carrying our bikes with our pickup and SUV. The only problem we encountered is putting a girl's bike on. It needs another bar which we purchased from the bike store. The price is right and it holds the bikes just fine. My son says to take it off when not in use as the plastic heats in summer and cracks.
