Avg Customer Rating:
Product Description: The ScanGaugeII is a 3-in-1 automotive trip computer, diagnostic scan tool, and 12 digital gauges in one small package. It connects easily to your car's On-Board Diagnostic (OBDII) port, communicating directly with the vehicle's computer. Not sure if your car uses OBDII or Controller Area Network (CAN)? The unit will automatically determine which system to use and switch to it. The ScanGaugeII works on 1996 or newer OBDII cars, including gas, diesel, propane and hybrid vehicles, as well as vehicles with the latest CAN systems, and the detachable cable allows for easy transfer between multiple vehicles. Its menu-driven operation means there's no need to memorize complex sequences, and no tools are required for installation. 12 Digital Gauges With 12 built-in gauges -- four can be displayed at once -- the ScanGaugeII can help determine fuel consumption rates, allowing you to adjust driving behavior and save gas. At the same time, keep an eye on coolant temperature, engine speed, and much more in real time. If there is a young driver in the house or friends borrow your car, the ScanGaugeII can record speeds of up to 158 mph and store the information for you to view later, so you will know just how fast your young driver or friend was going last night. If the unit was disconnected, you'll know: An indicator will be displayed in the trip data. ScanGaugeII mounts easily to your dash. View Larger | Gauges include: - Fuel Rate
- Vehicle speed (MPH)
- Fuel Economy
- Manifold Pressure (not available on some vehicles)
- Battery Voltage
- Engine Load
- Coolant Temperature
- Throttle Position
- Intake Air Temperature
- Ignition Timing
- Engine Speed (RPM)
ScanGaugeII makes diagnostics easy. View Larger | Scan Tool The ScanGaugeII includes a diagnostic scan tool that can check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), clear the codes, and turn off the "Check Engine" light on 99% of 1996 and newer vehicles. (However, this feature may not work on some trouble codes in Dodge vehicles.) If any DTCs are found, the ScanGauge will show how many there are as well as the codes themselves. Then you can use the Internet or repair manual to find out which is the failed part is, so you can repair it yourself or know what needs to be fixed at the mechanic's shop. Trip Computer Four sets of data are automatically recorded on the trip computer: Current, Today, Previous Day, and Tank Trip. The "current" trip restarts after the engine has been off for more than 3 minutes. The "today" trip restarts after the vehicle has not moved for 9 hours, and the data from "today" is moved to "previous day" when you restart the car, so you don't have to reset the computer every time you begin a trip. "Tank trip" resets when you fill up the tank. It can provide you with "to empty" data and other useful information, which can be viewed any time during the trip. The ScanGaugeII features 11 individually stored parameters, including: ScanGaugeII features 63 backlit colors. View Larger | - Maximum Speed
- Average Speed
- Maximum Coolant Temperature
- Maximum RPM
- Driving Time
- Driving Distance
- Fuel Used

Personalize It A large, high-contrast LCD display makes viewing the information easy, and both the display and keys are backlit and can be set to off, low, or high. With 63 possible colors, user settings, tank trip data, and vehicle settings that are automatically saved, and up to 10 user commands that can be stored and recalled, the ScanGaugeII can be easily customized to suit your needs.

Customer Reviews
The only gauge youll ever need
At first I justified buying this because in the long run, i could chnge my driving habits for better fuel economy, saving me money. The instantaneous fuel economy and throttle % indicators have helped me accomplish this. I am now getting better than the EPA ratecd fuel economy on my car. EPA city: 20 Highway: 27 Combined: 23. I am usuing this to get an average of 33 mpg. This is great now that gas prices have soared, and that is with no other modifications to my car than plugging this into it, and adjusting my driving style. Considering the amount of driving I do (90 miles/day typical), the scangauge is priceless.
Not only does it give fuel economy, It also has a variety of other sensors. Anything the car's computer knows, it can tell you. Coolant temperature, RPM (great since my car dosen't have a tachometer), MPH, gallons of gas/hour, and many more. It also stores trip data, such as top speed (great to know if you have a kid driving), avg speeed, top RPM, total distance, gallons of gas used, and avg fuel economy, not only for the current trip, but for that day and the previous day, and also for the tank of gas. It also lets you know if it has been disconnected from the car's computer at any point during the day.
In addition to these functions, it also provides error codes that can easily be referenced online, allowing you to diagnose and fix your own problems instead of taking it to a mechanic who will probably charge a fee just to plug it in. I printed them out so i can easily decipher whats wrong in case something happens while I'm on the road
I've had this for 3 weeks, and I think its a great product which is consistent and indispensible once you have one.

SG II rocks
everything is expected except one thing. the scan feature doesn't seems to work in my car. when i plug in it read no codes but the bottom says "-NOT READY-" so i donno if it my car or the scanner is like that (which shouldn't be according to the manual). i will try to scan it in some problem car sometimes to verify it. all other features work really well. my car is 02 subaru outback, btw.

As good as expected.
This thing is really a great source of info. Pretty cool to be able to watch what your car is doing.

A Must for Milage Misers
I purchased this product specifically for gas milage management. With ScanGauge II, the driver can monitor four displays at once. I keep up with my RPMs, Fuel Remaining, Average Fuel Milage, and Instant Fuel Milage all at once. It will even tell you how much each trip actually costs you. The other great thing ScanGauge does is give you "per tank" information such as MPGs, distance, averages, etc.
This product definately works "As Advertised".

ScanGuageII
This Product is awesome. Especially now-a-days with the high gas prices. It is a proven fact that the best way to improve gas mileage is with driving habits. This will allow you to monitor your driving habits and fuel consumption. Even if your vehicle has the MPG meter built in, this gives you more options.
The main part of my review however, is the seller. The shipping time was half what they said it would be. And when I called the seller, I was directly connected to an associate who was freindly and professional and knowledgable. I wish they sold more products because I would do buissness with them and no one else!
