Nothing like a top . . .
This is a simple ratchet-driven top that stands by itself while whirling and at faster speeds makes a low hum. It is our 15-month old son's favorite toy. Long fascinated by wheels, he managed to figure out how to operate the top on different surfaces and can be fascinated for long stretches of time. in his various experiments. He is also at the age of throwing things and we can attest to the durability of this top as it has been hurled down stairs and onto wood floors without incident. Go for the simplicity of this top over the others with bells and whistles and stands . . . It's not just a nostalgia piece for adults but a classic toy that continues to play well with today's kids.
