365 knitting stitches easy for beginning knitters to follow
As a beginning knitter I was looking for new stitches. This book was great, a huge variety to choose from along with simple instructions. Lots of fun deciding which one to try out next. Next week I am going to try out some of the cable patterns.

Excellent portable knit stitch library -- reputible company!
I fell in love with this book from the first moment I saw it -- which was probably the first year it was produced. The pictures are excellent. The directions are clear. The format (with the spiral binding and compact size) make it the perfect book to keep in your knitting bag when you go on the road. I have multiple knitting bags (multiple projects going on at any one time) so actually have multiple books.
Since I work on afgahns and shawls at this point (since having kids, I don't have the brain cells to devote to counting and shaping -- I like to just go back and forth and not have to worry about keeping up with complex instructions), I found myself frequently selecting a stitch pattern out of this book and developing it into a full-scale blanket or shawl.
Then I read online that there were many of the patterns that had errors. While the patterns had corrections listed on the website -- that defeated the purpose of having something that could be taken while traveling. So I contacted the publisher via email and explained to them that I had 2 earlier editions which have many errors. Within 24 hours they replied, asked for my address and within 2 weeks, they had replaced the earlier versions with updated and corrected editions. This is excellent customer service in my opinion.
So buy from this publisher with confidence. If you have one of the earlier error-riddled editions, contact the company and they'll make it right. Then reward the company for their professionalism by buying additional copies as needed (as opposed to just photocopying specific patterns for yourself or friends). I figure that craft companies need all the support they can get if we want them to stay in business and continue to be able to provide such excellent resources and sources of inspiration for us fiber artists.
My only complaint -- I only wish they would come out with another "perpetual calendar".

excellent gift
This is a great compact item with lots of great stitch patterns to refer to. I have read on many knit blogs that patterns were designed referencing this calendar and I can see why. I recommend this as a good reference piece as well as a perpetual calendar.
