Great Primer on Egypt
This is a great first book to begin an understanding of Egypt before travel. It covers all major areas in extensive detail; provides suggestions for the best places to visit while in the country; detail pictures of what to look for at various sites;and the last section on travel tips I found invaluable. It is current (2008 ed) and I especially like the size of the book, which can be tucked into a carry-on bag or a back-pack while touring and doesn't weigh a ton. "Don't leave home without it!"

Excellent guidebook
I found in this book a well proportionned description about Egypt: essential informations about all periods of it's history. Texts and fotos complete each other.

The book I'll take with me
The pictures and historical information are what made me decide to take this with me on my trip. I still like Lonely Planet, though, because they help you form a better plan for how you'll get around and the best route to take.

Egypt
This is a great book for my upcoming trip to Egypt and Jordan. It has a lot of information and is loaded with plenty of color photographs. I only wish there was a book for Jordan too. The book also shows views of streets and locations of museums and all the sites not to miss in Egypt.

Egypt (Eyewitness Travel Guide)
Great guide! Well organized with wonderful photos, illustrations, & maps. Took it to Egypt with me. Still use it as a reference now that I'm home.
