Overall, an above average jerky, a tasteful surprise.
Usually beef jerky entices newcomers with its promise of flavor and a filling experience in a handy snack. But then, along come some minor surprises that turn it into a love-it or hate-it product. It's chewiness, consistency and flavor bear little resemblance to the actual meat one is trying to experience "on-the-go". Mr. Z Teriyaki does not fall far from the tree as far as quality beef jerky goes, but that's a good thing. Softer .. much softer than regular jerky, it makes the experience of trying it less painful (yes, painful) than most other jerkies I've tried. As far as flavor, it is moderate and consistent, without those salty spots that many times overwhelm the palate and make a bottle of water a necessary companion to a jerky bag.

The teriyaki flavor is right-on and not too spicy, making this particular jerky a tasteful experience when wanting a protein-full this-side-of-salty snack on the go.

I bought this along with some of the original style jerky through a deal here on Amazon, and this stuff is awesome. I share it with my coworkers, and they all rave about how good this stuff is. Good jerky at an unbeatable price.

Our family has tried all of the Mr. Z flavors. As jerky lovers, we consider ourselves "in the know" on most products out there. This product is a family favorite, and seems to be the first gone with each purchase. The flavor is not too strong, which I believe is why our daughter likes it. We've tried to re-vamp our snack purchases to become healthier. Jerky is a great option because it is packed with protien. We have more on order, which says it all...

I bought this and the original flavor, I much prefer this, and I like the fact the Teriyaki is not overly flavored, like some other brands. It's tender, and not hard or as tough as other makers.

Jerky, but a bit too sweet and flat
Let me preface by saying that I compare all jerkies to Oberto original beef jerky. Teriyaki jerkies are not my favorites, even though I cook and consume a lot of oriental cuisine.

I found the Mr. Z Teriyaki jerky to be far too sweet and slightly too salty for my preference in jerky. The texture is more fine and flat than most of the jerkies that I am used to, but part of the fun in jerkies is the jaw exercise. It's not fillet mignon, after all. It's meant to be consumed after a couple on the hunt, or at least after a couple days into the latest video game.

Overall, I found this Teriyaki jerky to be a decent jerky, but not something that I will seek out in the future.
