Product Description: Before making Batman, director Tim Burton and star Michael Keaton teamed up for this popular black comedy about a young couple (Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin) whose premature death leads them to a series of wildly bizarre afterlife exploits. As ghosts in their own New England home, they're faced with the challenge of scaring off the pretentious new owners (Catherine O'Hara and Jeffrey Jones), whose daughter (Winona Ryder) has an affinity for all things morbid. Keaton plays the mischievous Beetlejuice, a freelance "bio-exorcist" who's got an evil agenda behind his plot to help the young undead newlyweds. The film is a perfect vehicle for Burton's visual style and twisted imagination, with clever ideas and gags packed into every scene. Awesome Cheese
This is one of my favorite movies (and, now that I've purchased it, one of my kids' favorites, too!). This movie is so hilariously cheesy it's irresistable. The soundtrack is great, and the kids always jump up to dance along with the characters at the dinner scene. While some of the lines border on awful, the actors are (usually) believable... and who wouldn't mind watching a young Alec Baldwin (remember? back when he was a hottie?). This movie is a classic and a great addition to any movie library (if for nothing else than historical value).

Good Movie For Halloween
This is a good classic movie to put on at Halloween. It was in Geena DAvis, Alex Baldwin and Micheal Keaton earlier days. They all did such a good job ... real cute movie

Clarification
Just wanted to post a correction to what the previous review said...
The film is NOT based on the cartoon it's the other way around. The cartoon came later.

wickedly funny
I know this version of beetle juice has not been realesed yet but still it is the movie. this movie is based on the hit cartoon show. michael keaton portrays bettlejuice in the right manner. this movie is one for the whole family. it's a must see
