Product Description: Set in New York City, this appealingly madcap Japanese comedy turns the stereotype of the hard-working Japanese in America on its head. Featuring amusing sight gags, winning lead performances and over-the-top caricatures, Sleepy Heads tells the tale of young illegal Japanese immigrants happy to be free from Japan's intense work ethic and traditional hierarchies.

Customer Reviews
gotta see this movie!!!
I am very impressed with this movie and will look for further movies by Yoshifumi Hosoya. This movie is about young Japanese dealing with living in NYC and the new lifestyles and situations they encounter. Some of it is filmed at Astor Place in the East Village which is a popular place for cool Japanese in NYC. I really loved this movie for it's quirky humor and portrayal of cross cultural dilemmas experienced by the characters trying to make it in the city. This has become one of my favorite movies and I strongly recommend it for anyone who likes offbeat comedies which don't insult a person's intelligence.

A Review from Movies Unlimited
Shot in New York, this Japanese production is a wild and edgy farce in the tradition of "After Hours," in which a group of slacker illegal Asian immigrants and their Rastafarian pal get into a series of wild adventures. When one of their roommates dies, they decide to fulfill the deceased pal's wishes by throwing his body over the Brooklyn Bridge...but first they have to lug it across the city in a bag. Eugene Nomura, Toshiya Nagasaw star. 86 min. Standard; Soundtrack: English, Japanese mono; Subtitles: English; theatrical trailer; biographies.
