Kingston DT1 4GB - Its Worth It..!!
Hi, i have recently purchased the Kingston DTI 4GB USB Flash Drive. Its looks good with purple, the on white body. Sturdy design which lets you use it rough. 4GB much ample space for storing software's, pictures, video's. Its sleek design lets me keep it in my backpack and completely forget about it. Works well with my Dell inspiron 1425.
Negatives: takes a bit of time getting detected, after plugging in, probably because its of 4GB.
Overall: its really worth for your money.

flash drive mobility
The Kingston 4GB flashdrive is just what you need if you are transferring large amounts of data from one computer to another. I think this is a good quality flash drive. I feel that my data is safe when stored on this flash drive.

USB Flash Drive
I couldn't pass up a 4 GIG jump drive for 20 bucks so I bought several of them to add to my collection. this Kingston drive seems to perform well. I have had no problems thus far. $5/GB that is a bargin. At least for today. In a few years it will be down to $1/GB I bet.

Great....except for the sssssllllooooowwww write time
On the plus side, this is Kingston. This is the Cadillac of USB flash brands, and you will have to wait a LONG time to find someone who ever had problems with the technical quality of Kingston products. It works great, the price is certainly awesome, and it provides the specified 4GB of capacity and no "crapware". And if that's what your after, you cannot beat this drive for this price. Straight up.
However, I am here to tell you, this device is SSSSLLLLLOOOOOWWWWWW. Copying about 1GB of music files is going to take you a good solid 15 minutes. I kid you not. I have reformatted as NTFS, I have changed the file allocation unit size, etc., and the performance is identical. I called Kingston, and after wading through about 4 morons, I finally got an actual engineer on the other end, and I was told that this performance is in fact normal. He informed me that (obviously) for this price you're not getting their fast stuff. They do have fast stuff---but you'll pay.
So, if you're offloading some music/pix files just for storage, this drive is awesome. If you're going to use in any environment where higher speeds are required, you are not going to like this drive.
Like anything else (cars, women, food...), you can only pick two out of the following three: Fast, Good, Cheap. This drive is SUPER good, and SUPER cheap. But it isn't fast---it is, in fact, SUPER slow. That's just economics.
