Avg Customer Rating:
Product Description: With years of experience as a science teacher, Dr. Kent Hovind convincingly refutes the theory that life on earth evolved by chance, and shows that the "science" of evolution is really a religion. Dr. Hovind presents strong scienfitfic evidence in support of the creation account of origins and demonstrates that the Genesis flood actually occurred. The Age of the Earth makes the evolution-creation debate fascinaating and easy to understand for both adults and children.

Somebody got their religion gored again (see below about nut w/ 'young earth' criticism)
Yep, smiling old Kent Hovind (that's
Dr. Dino to you and me) sure knows
how to stir up the leftists and other
kooks! Go, Doc Dino, Go. Best video
yet on this fine subject, but I high-
ly recommend getting also 'Icons Of
Evolution', either on VHS/DVD or the
book, which is better yet!

I Have a Theory....
Dr. Hovind's dissertation on the age of the earth is an excellent scholarly discussion. It is part one of a seven video seminar series. Dr. Hovind sets out a list of limiting factors. These are things that set a cap on how old the earth could be. Using God's word as a starting point and scientific facts to continue on, he establishes that the earth could not possibly be older than 10,000 years old. Dr. Hovind makes a lot of sense. There is so much clear evidence to refute evolution that it takes more faith to believe in it than in creation or intelligent design. As a Christian, it was helpful for me to gain from Hovind's knowledge and develop an arsenal of tools for dealing with the whole evolution fairy tale. It was equally important to come to an understanding of why it is so important to do so.

EXCELLENT VIEWING.
I've studied several aspects of science since i was a kid and over the last couple of years i've become aware of how false many of the teachings of modern day science and how throughout history how MUCH science has changed and been constantly inventing new 'truths' and new 'facts' to support their current beliefs and help support their monetary needs for funding. It wasn't that long ago that science taught the earth was flat and you could fall off the edge along with so many other so-called facts. The only book that has NEVER changed is the Bible in which God described such things as atoms, sea currents, the causes of wind and rain, interstellar space, underwater volcanoes and mountains, the strong nuclear force, etc. This video is very informative along with Kent Hovind's other materials. Enjoy!!! :)

Logic? Critical Thinking? Think Again. It's Just Silly.
In short, same old, same old, young-earth argument.I used excerpts from many of Hovind's video's in science courses that I teach as examples of flawed logic and lack of critical thinking. All of the issues that are raised are addressed in detail in most College texts that cover origins of the Earth and some cases evolution. I have had students become angry when asked if they felt the young-earth argument has any scientific merit. Generally, that point is reached in under 3 minutes of beginning of any of Hovind's video. Perhaps what the most insulting aspect of this work is the constant references to nonscripturally based interpretation of Geology as the work of the satan. Any and every discussion leads to phrases along the lines of this is exactly what the devil wants you to believe. This is a common theme throughout all of Hovind's work. Exactly where does that fit into a debate on geologic origins? The arguments regarding entropy and contradictions in radio-isotope dating become exercises in ignorance and are based on a misunderstanding of uncertainty. For example, it's not pointed out that the apparent discrepancies represent less than 1% of radioisotope measurements made. While it might be cute to think a high school science teacher has some insight into interpreting scientific developments, the lack of insight seeps through from the first sentence. If you are looking for a good introductory video on Earth's origins get Discovery's Channel's Amazing Earth.

Why don't you give this guy a break
I have seen Dr. Hovind many times. Each time that I have seen him I have learned something new. I don't understand why people discredit him. Personally, I don't believe I came from a rock. Do you believe that you came from a rock? That is a little hard to swallow. What about entropy? The law that says things are degenerating, not getting better. If evolution was true, then how do evolutionists get past the law of entropy. Dr. Hovind is a learned man, and he shouldn't be decried by those who have not studied the issue, and who only know what has been told them. Dr Hovind is one of the best scholars on the subject of creation vs. evolution, and I think he should be seen as such
