5 stars Collection of NASA documentaries
This item is a collection of seven of the 30-odd minute documentaries NASA made about the Apollo missions. The seven videos you get are: 1. Apollo 10 "Green Light for a Lunar Landing" 2. Apollo 11 "Eagle has Landed" 3. Apollo 13 "Houston We Have A Problem" 4. Apollo 14 "Mission To Fra Mauro" 5. Apollo 15 "In The Mountains of the Moon" 6. Apollo 16 "Nothing So Hidden" 7. Apollo 17 "On the Shoulders of Giants".

It is boxed attractively and travelled well to me in Australia. All seven videos arriving (thanks to... good packaging) completely unharmed.

In some ways these documentaries look a little dated now, but if you want an introduction to the achievements of these specific Apollo missions, in 30 minute "video chunks", you can't go past them. All feature some footage from space or the surface of the moon, mission control in action, and the achievements of the mission. It is a pity that all the Apollo missions couldn't be included, (note that Apollo 7, 8, 9 and 12 are not in the set). However, the documentaries for these missions should be available singly. (Though I don't know if NASA made a documentary for Apollo 7, which funnily enough featured TV transmissions from space at the time.)

I actually already had all the videos covered by the set except for Apollo 14 and 16, and I think it was worth the price for the coverage of Apollo 16 alone.

If this got you interested in learning more about the missions, I'd suggest you get a copy of the book "A Man On The Moon" by Andrew Chaikin. This not only tells the story of the individual missions in more detail, it also relates the missions to the space program as a whole.
