Customer Reviews
Maestro 4250 More Cumbersome To Use Than Roadmate 760
We've been using Magellan Roadmate 760 units in our two service vans for the past 2-years and recently purchased a Maestro 4250. The new Magellan unit is significntly less useful in this area than the older Roadmates. Here's why. When you enter a city or zip code the new Maestro 4250, it asks you to further identify the actual township. In our region, we have a lot of mailing zip codes that contain numerous townships: e.g, the mailing location West Chester, PA 19382 contains over 10 separate townships! Consequently, when a customer supplies us with their mailing address (e.g., 101 Main Street, West Chester, PA 19382) and we try to enter this address, the Maestro also requires entry of which specific township. This requires us to change our customer database to not only contain a mailing address, but also add a separate township identification. The older Roadmate 760's only require entering the mailing address. This may not be a issue for many users, but it's a real problem with the Maestro in Southeastern, Pennsylvania. In addition, the Maestro processes data input significantly slower than the Roadmate 760. We've just purchased another Roadmate 760 because this model is much more useful for our service vans than the glitzier new Maestro.

100% Satisfaction
I needed to take several interstate trip, and also in state and local trips. I wanted a voice command enabled system with multiple options + wide screen with high resolution. Magellan 4250 provided me with all of these features and more.
I studied all the brands in the market and made a comprehensive comparison before buying the right GPS, for more than two weeks. I am quite happy with my purchase.
I red few negative comments before, now that I have the unit, I see few of those problems happens, but their solution is very easy and quick. For example, it is now very obvious to me that those who reported a problem with turning on the system, haven't got tried to connect the charger cable to the unit when the battery charge was probably very low.
This GPS works professionally, yet it's very user friendly.

a very good gps, love the way it talk to you, left turn 2 mile ahead etc.
I am sorry I did not get this from amazon because I wanted the extra warranty. It is a very good gps. I love the way it talk's to you "left turn, right turn, turn 2 miles ahead, stay on the left etc.and ring a bell at the turn" .no problem getting it updated, not that I think it needed updating, they let me update it for free so i updated it.I wanted a case, a/c charger, a computer hookup*note the cable is short.

NO Mac support from Magellan!
Inconceivable but true! An obscure spot in Magellan's website states they do NOT offer support for "Mac or Apple products" (as of Sept 1, 2008). I found this information -- after much searching -- by going to "Ask Maggie" within their Support section. Type in the word "Mac" and nothing else to see whether this unbelievable void has been filled or not.
At the very least, they should clearly state this limitation in the product specifications for Magellan Maestro 4250 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator
