4 stars For Little Einsteins fans
My toddler is a fanatic about all things "Little Einsteins," so when I purchased this for her second birthday, I had high hopes that it would go over well. In checking it out prior to wrapping, I was impressed with the quality of the toy and the diversity of its features. The recorded voices, the music, Rocket's sound effects are all very well done. The fact that the speed of the music is matched to the user's movements is a nice high-tech feature. All in all, this was money well spent. My happy two-year-old fully agrees.

4 stars 2 under 4
I bought the Little Einsteins Pat Pat Rocket for my 4-year-old son, but both he and his 2-year old sister LOVE it. They fly it, "walk" characters in and out of it, pretend they are on "missions" from the show or ones they make up during the day, etc. My son had no trouble figuring out how each part of the toy functions, and could easily open and close the hatch himself right away; his 2-year old sister requires assistance. Each of the characters fits into a seat inside the rocket; when the figures click into place, the character's voice is heard saying one of his / her well-known phrases. The hatch will come off, but easily clicks back into place - again, my son figured this out himself very early on and it doesn't impact his enjoyment of the toy. There is also a fold out "screen" from inside the toy - personally, I think they could skip this in any revisions of the toy - the monitor part comes off easily and frequently, and my kids all but ignore this feature. The kids have flown it, landed it, and knocked it from "dangerous ledges" (sofa, table...) and we've experienced no breakage from this treatment. I would definitely recommend this toy for preschool Little Einsteins fans out there!!

4 stars Excellent fun, but several negatives
If my nearly-three-year old son were to review this, he'd give it 5 stars all the way! He received it seven months ago for Christmas and has literally played with it EVERY day since then.

My complaints echo those of many others:
it's too loud,

the lid pops off VERY easily (though my son drives it around "convertible style" most of the time now),

the steps don't stay closed,

and it is very heavy. About a month after getting the toy, he dropped it on his toe and it instantly turned purple. Eventually the toenail fell off... so when others say it's too heavy, they are right!!

Additionally, the paint is really rubbing off. I am disappointed in the quality of the toy overall. I would expect more from Disney and Fisher Price.

I still gave this toy a high rating, however, because my toddler could not love it more. He rolls it. He flies it. He sings with it. He loves it as much (or more) turned off as he does on -- which is a nerve-saver! Anytime he watches the Little Einsteins, he runs to find Rocket so that he can fly it along with the show.

Initially the toys were hard to get into their seats, but that became easier with time. The characters do sit the same as in the show (unlike one reviewer noted), or my son would not be happy!

Again, I am disappointed in the quality -- but if it came down to it, I would buy another one because of the mileage we have gotten from this toy!

3 stars kids love it, mostly
Our kids are big fans of the TV show, so they were thrilled to get this toy. They love to play with it, except they do get frustrated with the hatch (too hard to open for a 2-year-old, and too easy to pull off and misplace) and the "TV" screen (a square plastic piece that also easily detaches and gets lost). And, as other reviewers have pointed out, it's hard to get the figures into their seats. A lot of force is required -- more than a 2-year-old can manage. The volume is also too loud, but at least there is an on/off switch.

We had to return our first purchase, because it stopped making any sounds after less than an hour of play.

4 stars GREAT, GREAT...did I say GREAT!!!!!!!
He loves it and it's worth the money. It's durable to go anywhere and it does. He loves flying it all over the house, yard. He loves it.
