A constant temperature year round
The thermometer arrived and was stuck somewhere around 95 degrees, so it was returned. Maybe others work, but it wasn't worth the effort for me.

Accurate but hard to read
I just remodeled my back deck. The old thermometer I'd had for more then twenty years was broken accidentally when we tried to remove it from the old one, but I wanted a similar design. This is the closest thing I could find. It's much flimsier then the photo and a bit smaller then I'd expected too. I guess they really don't make 'em like they "used to" anymore, but it is decent enough looking nevertheless. And it's pretty accurate too. The only significant downside is that it's darn near impossible to read unless you're within about five feet and standing directly in front of it. Part of the problem is the size, part is glare bouncing off the glass, and part is the relatively light color of the measuring liquid. It's also a bit tough to reassemble properly after pulling it apart to attach the swing arm. Seems like it would be easy enough but getting the dedcorative top and bottem knobs exactly aligned again takes a few tries. Given the price of "nicer" units, however, I figured that all in all it's plenty sufficient for my needs. In fact, I bought a second one for the front deck when I finished redoing that as well. I've only had them for a few months so far, but they seem to be holding up just fine.

They sent the wrong thermometer. The one I received has moom and star on it. Not worth sending back. The tube is plastic and not glass.

Functional and attractive
This is even more pleasing in person. Mine arrived with a slightly different design than the one pictured. The finials at the top and bottom are replicas of the sun and the moon and a star, respectively. Very charming and seems accurate as well. Recommended.
