Gran Turismo 5 - First Impression
From the "Prologue" in the title, you know right off the bat that GT5-P is not a full release. Missing from this version is the full "Simulation" mode which you can buy cars and tune them with racing parts with cash acquired from prize money and participate in Licence tests in order to qualify for tougher, more prestigious races.
Still, there are more than enough features to keep fans of one of the best racing franchises happy. First off is the beautiful HD output. If you want to show off the capabilities of your PS3 this is the game to buy.
Instead of the Licence tests, you compete in a series of races. If you get a medal (Gold, Silver or Bronze) in a particular class (Class C, B, A and S class), you can advance and compete next higher class of races. After you beat all of the A class races, the tuning options will open up which you will need to adjust to upgrade or downgrade your cars so that they can properly qualify for the S class races.
You can also compete online using the cars you have won or purchased. The online races are also divided by classes and are unlocked by unlocking the classes in offline mode. The offline mode is not perfect, but it is definitely passable. If your bandwidth takes a dive, you will notice that your opponents cars will start "blinking" and the collision can randomly turn off and on, which can cause some potentially nasty spinouts. Still, if you have some decent bandwidth the prize money won from the races can be used to purchase even more cars for your garage. Plus you will have the satisfaction of competing against, and hopefully beating live opponents.
Unfortunately there is no option to race online with a specific friend or group of friends, only random matchups. Overall, however even if this is is just a "prologue" It's a definite must buy for fans of the seies to hold you over until the full release. It is also a solid release for those who bought the PS3 just for the blueray player, since it can render in full 1080p you can really show off the PS3s capabilities.

Gran Turismo is the best racing simulator on the market
This is an amazing sneak peak into what I will inevitably receive once I buy the full game. Some people didn't want to pay $40 for it, but the amazing physics and graphics, plus the in car camera mode make it completely worth it. Can't wait for the full game

Gran Tursimo 5
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is as they say a large demo of Gran Turismo 5 that is yet to come. Having played all 4 previous titles this new addition has some greater enhancements but also lacks a whole lot. The online mode is a bonus and it has it's rewards, but lacks many other features other online racing games have. Graphically the game is top notch, controls superb, and authenticity of each vehicle is outstanding. I recommend this game only for real car enthusiasts.

Realistic Racing
Gran Tourismo 5 Prologue is the first racing game I purchased for my PS 3. The graphics and colors are extremely realistic. Using the controller for steering, braking, and accelerating takes some getting use to. The wheel might be easier. All the tracks have an arcade version were you can do time trials to build skills before actually racing. The cars you race in events never crash so you have to run a near perfect race to beat them. You have a wide selection of cars to choose from. You start out with enough to buy a low powered car to race with other lower powered cars. As you win races you win cash to purchase faster and more exotic race cars. Overall, you experience what it is like to drive at high rates of speed on several famous race courses. It is well worth purchasing before the full version comes out

Gran Turismo: 5 Prologue
This is the best and most realistic racing game I ever play. It has the best graphic and dynamic. Great cars selection. The sounds and the handling of the cars are just as real as the real one. Also, the new in car view is so cool. Everything just respond the way you expected from a real car. A definite game to have on your shelf.
