great party game
really fun game to play with a group of friends or with family. even if you dont know some of the songs, it is easy to sing along. a big tv and surround sound is also recommended for the "ultimate rock band experience"

Awesome!
This is a fantastically amazing game. I can finally fulfill my secret dream of being a drummer (on something more than my steering wheel)! The guitar and microphone are great features as well. The only reason I gave the overall review 4 stars is that the brand new disc has been skipping on certain songs. Our PS2 is old and we assumed a tiny scratch was causing this, so we ordered another brand new disc. The newest new disc also skips on the same songs, so we have yet to figure out if it's the system or some sort of manufacturing flaw in the discs. Besides that technicality, I absolutely love the game.

Game broken
We bought this from Amazon and were very happy with the service, always have been. Unfortunately it is defective and a person has to go through hoops to get a replacement. It can't be shipped back to Amazon and replaced, you need to go through EA games. When you open the package there is a notification saying if it doesn't work contact EA games, do not contact the vendor. I did contact Amazon and they responded helpfully but time will tell if we get ours. It also went down in price in 1 week. Oh well, pray for me.

LOVE the game, but the peripherals not as much...
Coming from Guitar Hero 2 & 3 I think Rock Band is just as fun, if not way more fun because of adding the other aspects. Trying to play guitar while singing is quite challenging! My biggest thing was deciding whether to just by the game or the bundle, and I bought the bundle, so here's what I think.
I do not love the guitar, and after a few songs on hard switched back to my red gibson and did much better. People have said they like the fact the strum bar doesn't click, and this doesn't bother me at all, but the note keys clack like crazy when you press them, plus you can accidentally hit a note with your thumb as you are holding the neck, all of which was irritating. So the guitar was not really needed.
The drums are okay, but having to use the pedal (tiring!) all the time takes some of the fun out for me, and the thwacking sound when you hit the drums overpowers the actual drum sound in the game so I didn't think it was that fun.
The mic is the same kind as the karaoke games, so you probably don't need it.
So in sum, I probably didn't need the bundle for myself, as I would probably stick to the guitar and mic. But it would be worth it of course if you knew you would actually have 4 people that wanted to play at once. If you are going to buy the drums anyway, you might as well buy the bundle, as it would be almost as expensive.
The setlist is GREAT!!! Better then guitar heros by far I think! There are a few of the same songs from Guitar Hero 3, and it is funny to have to play them differently.
In sum, I highly recommend it, and I will probably end up playing it more then Guitar Hero, albeit with my GH guitar :)

Fun for the whole family
I really enjoyed this game. It gives everyone in the family a chance to play. My 6 year old has a hard time keeping up with guitar hero, but loves to sing so we put her on vocals and then she isn't just left out to sit and watch while everyone else plays.
Also I am looking forward to upgrading to a PS3 and like the fact that all the insturments are going to be compatable with a PS3. We looked at jsut buying drums because we have two guitar hero guitars, but you must use a controller to work the vocal part so we wouldn't have been able to have two guitars as well as vocals and drums.
Overall a good family fun game.
