A Very Sweet Book
This is a lovely little picture book and I imagine would be wonderful for Children who have lost a beloved animal companion! I purchased this along with Cold Noses at the Pearly Gates & Animals & the Afterlife (my absolute favourite), and I found that the 3 combined helped me through the worst times of my grief and loss. This book now lives on my bedside table, and wheneve I feel a bit lost without my beautiful cat Tyson I read it and it makes me smile.

Touching Book Helps With Loss
I received this book in the mail from the veterinary hospital that treated our beloved cat, Salem, in his last days with us. It was a surprise to get a package from the hospital, and I couldn't imagine what could be inside. The doctor, along with the techs and receptionist, had written consoling messages inside the book's cover and they had attached a picture of Salem while he had been there receiving one of his hemodialysis treatments. The story is so sweet and touching, but I do get very, very sad anytime I read it.

We lost Salem last October. He was only 4 years old. Uncharacteristically, he had eaten one of the lilies that I had purchased in a bouquet. Unbeknownst to me, ALL species of lily is fatally toxic to cats and it only takes a small amount of ANY part of the plant to quickly start kidney failure. If I had gotten him to the vet within the first 8 hours, he could have been saved, but it was about 72 hours after he ingested the plant that I realized what had happened. We took a 50/50 chance on his survival and put him through 3 hemodialysis treatments, but he didn't recover. He died at home with us at 12:30 AM on 10/01/07. We miss him terribly and look forward to joining him in Heaven one day.

Now I am sending this book to a dear friend who just lost her 7 year old cat to cancer. I hope that it will console her in her time of deep loss and sorrow.

For Every Cat an an Angel
The books written by Christine Davis are like poems. They are short, yet, concise with what they are saying. They really are perfect to give someone, or yourself, when a cat or dog becomes part of your, or someone else's family or when sadly, they have to leave. I have always regarded the cats and dogs that come into my life as God's little angels who are sent to be with us for a while, and these books share that sentiment. They are suitable for children and adults, are sweet without being sugary, the illustrations are wonderful, and I plan on giving all my friends at least one of these books. They touch the heart.

For anyone who has ever loved a cat, for every cat lover out there... you owe it to yourself to buy and own this most wonderous book. The illustrations are absolutely charming and it is so beautifully written. Don't miss out on this one...add it to your continually growing cat book collection!
