Then learn variations from the Nutcracker Ballet such as Chinese, Russian, and the dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. The Russian dancer and the Sugar Plum Fairy make an appearance to dance with you! Includes a short story-telling of the Nutcracker. At the end scenery and music are provided for you to put on your own performance for family and friends. The variations are specially choreographed for young children by former Bolshoi artist Dmitri Roudnev.

Although the concept is great, it is ruined by amateurish filming & reproduction. Color changes for no reason,the camera focuses on the wrong things, the sound is tinny -- it is an embarrassment! The young dancers do well & may inspire others -- but the story is "told" sketchily, omitting most of the first act of the ballet.


5 stars Great Ballet Experience for little girls!
What a fun video. The children get to dance along and actually learn to appreciate this historic and powerful ballet.We played the video several times for my 5 year old and then took her to see the live ballet. The video greatly enriched the experience. certainly worth the money. This is a quality video.


1 stars At $1.00 per minute, definitely NOT WORTH THE PRICE!
The warm up was about the most useful exercise on this tape. Besides the horrendous pronunciations (including ballet terms), my daughter learned more from the Barbie Nutcracker. If only I had it to do again... :(


5 stars Great choreography for children
This video is excellent. I am always looking for fresh, new ideas and this video gave that to me. I attended a very prestigious ballet school and danced with its company. I now own and teach at my own ballet school. The instructor is extremly knowledgeable and well trained. The children featured in the video are probably 7/8 and the dances they demonstrate are great for ages 6-10. They are very easy to teach and easy for the student to learn. A nice break from what we do each week at our own school.


5 stars This is a great interactive video for children!
This is a great interactive video! My three year old just jumped right in after watching it through once and started trying the steps. My five year old put on a little "show" for mummy and daddy. She performed the Sugar Plum Fairy Dance for us. I highly recommend this video. It has cute kids who appear to be actual ballet students. The ballet teacher is easy for children to follow. She and the characters from the Nutcracker teach your children the steps to the Nutcracker Ballet. My children loved it.
