Mas que una herramienta para saber si hay presencia de chispa, es un practico instrumento para saber si los cables de bujías estan en buen estado, mediante el destello se puede saber si el cable esta trasladando bien la chispa hacia la bujía

I shouldn't have assumed that this device did what I expected it to do.
I was looking for something that would quickly indicate that there was a spark by simply turning over the engine. This device requires that you start the engine in order to use it. If you are not getting a spark, you probably won't be able to do that, hence you won't be able to use the product. I guess I will revert to the tried and true method of simply using the distributor wire and touching it to an engine bolt.

Pocket size, no connections to make, cheap and it works! What more could you ask for in a tool.
I've been using this spark tester for years and have given them to fellow gearheads as gifts! It can sometimes be a little hard to see out in the bright sun, but use your head as a shade and all is well. I wouldn't be without it.
