Customer Reviews
Met/exceeded expectations
did a fair amount of research on remotes before settling on the H1 - and glad that i did. the remote exceeded most of my expectations - and unfortunately in some areas met them.
Exceeded in that for my wife and kids, most activities are indeed 1-touch; watching DVD, regular cable TV, listening the radio,... - and occasionally when something gets out of sync (usually because we stop pointing the remote at the AV center before it's issued all the commands), the help works great to resolve.
Met expectations in that the PC software User Interface is indeed a bit cumbersome and not always intuitive on where something would be. For example, my AVR had 18 pages of device buttons - and to re-arrange them, delete some that i will never use,... - was an extremely tedious task - and is still not completed. A little better UI with Include/Exclude and some drag & drop, or even 1-to-n numbering would be great. But since a number of the reviews pointed this out - i was not surprised and am working with it.
A definite repeat purchase & recommendation to any friend with a similar set-up (AVR, HDTV, Cable Box w/ DVR, DVD)

expensive but does what it claims
Have had the remote for about a month and I am generally very pleased. It does what it is advertised to do and is pretty easy to program by following the instructions. The battery life is fair and by leaving it in the charger every night, I have had no problems with it running out. It is expensive but has allowed me for the most part (99% of the time) to have a single remote replace the several I was using previously to run my HDTV, cable box, audio system and blu-ray player as well as an old VCR. I have used the logitech support people a couple of times in the beginning and they were very helpful. Also the site [...] has good information as does the logitech supported users forum.

Great remote, Slightly bumpy setup
this is a great remote. During my 1st try to set it up, I ran into two problems. One, I have a Tivo S3, originally I put in the model number TCD-648250B, wanting to be exact, but the setup software didn't recognize it as the S3, and set it up using some other Tivo code. It was missing the Tivo central button definition, so I had difficult accessing my Tivo menu. This lead to my second problem, I tried to learn the Tivo button, but couldn't get it to learn at all, tried all kinds of distance, a couple of different Tivo remotes, changed batteries. I was getting a little worried that it's not up to its hype.
After I searched around a little, I tried inputting the Tivo's model number as simply "S3", and the setup software picked it up as the Tivo S3 HD DVR, and now the remote code has the Tivo button, 1st problem solved. I also found a tip on the web to point the original remote at a 90 degree angel towards the Harmony One's IR learning window from the back of the remote, instead of head on. So I was able to learn the List button which takes me to the Now Playing List directly on my Tivo. Now it has all the functions I needed. After rearranging the button mapping to my liking, it's working like a charm now.
It's a beautiful remote, all the buttons feel really nice in my hand. I'm using it to control my Tivo, Westinghouse HDTV, Sony AV receiver, XBox 360, and switch AV receiver inputs for PS3 and Wii. It's really responsive, the button press all work smoothly.

Works perfectly for me and VERY cool too!
WOW! This is my first universal remote and I really couldn't be much happier with it. First of all, this thing is sleek and screams quality from every angle. Wonderful functionality aside, the Harmony One is very elegant and luxurious. It feels "right" in my hand and within a few days my fingers instinctively knew where all the main function buttons were located. The Harmony One has been very well thought out. It has a very high "cool factor" and goes a long way in helping me achieve my goal of ultimate couch potato!
(but seriously folks).........
I was initially a bit anxious about the setup after reading the reviews here , but except for having to uninstall then reinstall the software it all went very smoothly. (for some reason my computer didn't take to it the first time and froze up) The Logitech website work well, although certain options are somewhat hidden and you need to poke around a bit to find what you want to change or add. Once you do, it is a breeze and once programmed and updated the Harmony One performed with nary a glitch.
I replaced 7 remotes with this thing and am not missing a single function from any of them. Sometimes you may have to toggle between "activity" and "device" modes to access all fuctions, but it is fast and easy and it works! My setup is somewhat complex with an Onkyo Surround amp, Pioneer 5080 plasma, Motorola DVR, Oppo DVD, Toshiba HD DVD , Toshiba VCR/DVD and a Marantz CD player. I just answered the questions on Logitech's website regarding which amp input , TV input, and device was used for each function I set up and their software did the rest. I was delighted when everything worked right the first time I tried using it.
I felt a great deal of satisfaction when boxing up and storing my other remotes and look forward to using the Harmony One for many years to come. My only real gripe with it is I wish they had made the heavily used buttons such as transport and volume out of rubber instead of hard plastic. Yes, it is a bit pricey .. But plan on saving a bit of that price on batteries you won't need to buy anymore. If you really want/need to get rid of all your other remotes and don't mind a very slight learning curve, then the Harmony One will not disappoint. Good stuff!

Simple enough for me!
This remote is so cool! My husband has a huge complicated A/V system set up with TV, DVR, two dvd players, DVD recorder, and I'm sure some other stuff too. All I want to do is watch TV or an occasional DVD. We have an entire storeage box of remotes on our coffee table. I'm a Bzzagent and occasionally get products to play with. When this came in, I handed him the Harmony One and sent him off to play. It took him a little while, but when he was finished we were good to go.
I love the lcd touch screen and just the overall "feel" of the remote. It works great and now I only have to use the one remote. We're both happy!
