Customer Reviews

5 stars Piaf, the Soul of France
This is an excellent quality recording of some of the most deeply touching music to come out of post war France.
There is simply no voice like Piaf's.

5 stars Fine selection of Edith Piaf's singing
I ordered this CD (along with the 75-song 3-CD set) after seeing "La Vie En Rose," a powerful film of her life. Glad I did--it took me back many years... a joy to listen to!

5 stars Great voice-great songs!!

I've enjoyed this album very much. More than half the songs are her classic's and that's a pretty good average on anyone's album! I also bought a Piaf singing English album {edithpiaf, hymm to love; all her greatest song's in English}} at the same time, which makes for a very nice companion piece to this one. And again most of her well known classic songs in English on that album too!

It helps to keep the French dictionary time down to a minimum! Enjoy!

4 stars Excelent voice of this french woman
Even thoug the songs are in french language those capture completely the senses....I think it is the perfect combination of woman singing voice and french language.....great

5 stars Piaf at her best
Saw the movie La Vien Rose.... fell in love with Edith all over again. I am transported to Paris at the first song.
