Oscar Peterson narrates this feature-length film, tracing the evolution of his ever-changing sound and style: from his early days as Montreal's boogie-woogie sensation, through his meteoric rise to international celebrity.

Distilled from 80 hours of footage, the 106 minute, 2-videocassate "Oscar Peterson: Music in the Key of Oscar" features close to an hour of rare vintage and exciting contemporary performances, including Nat "King" Cole with Jazz at the Philharmonic and the historic reunion of the Oscar Peterson Trio- Oscar on piano, Ray Brown on bass and Herb Ellis on guitar. Interviews with Quincy Jones, Ella Fitzgerald, Herbie Hancock, Cleo Lane, Dizzy Gillespie and many more are woven throughout the narrative, rounding out this portrait of the brilliant jazzman, and the changing cultural climate in which jazz adapted and flourished over the decades.

Wall-to-wall music, rare footage and in-depth interviews with a cast of jazz greats create a film that is destined to become a classic, spanning four decades of a genius' music and ambition to honor his father's credo to "Be the best."

V.I.E.W. Video is proud to present Oscar Peterson still swingin': Mission Accomplished, Mission Continued.

MUSICAL HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:

Caravan, Gentle Waltz, Boogie Woogie, Tiny's Exercise (Art Tatum), Tenderly, Sweet Loraine (Nat "King" Cole), Hymn to Freedom, Place St. Henri, Perdido (Cleo Lane & John Dankworth), March Past, Nightmare, Migerian Marketplace...and more
