What a Relaxing Video
I remeber the first time I heard Keiko's music, and ever since then I was hooked. I enjoy shuting off all the lights and poping this tape into the VCR and listen to the tranquil sounds of Keiko and her band. I really recommend this tape if you had a long week and want to do something relaxing for the weekend. So get this tape and while your at it get some of her cds as well. You won't regret it.

A Must Buy
I recommend buying this video very much, even if you do not own one of her CDs. Keiko is an amazing piano player who writes all her music. She has a terrific group playing with her, including her husband. If you are a Keiko fan already, then buy it to see her perform her greatest music, which is on this video. I think it is one of the best music videos I have seen by anyone. I only wish that it was available in DVD.

An enlightening video
I saw this video for the first time on TV. I was taken by it so much that I bought the video and now own 10 of her CDs. This video is like having a "The Best of Keiko" CD, only you can also see her on stage! The music, the performances, the sound quality for a VHS (where is the DVD?) are all good to great. I recommend this video strongly. Here, you can sample her best songs. You will then probably be hooked and want to buy her CDs, which contain slightly different versions of the songs on this video. For example, compare the title song of this video "Light Above the Trees" to the version on the CD "A Drop of Water". The latter has a wonderful use of acoustic guitar not present in the video.

Beauty from East
Light above the trees is a soothing, envigorating and soft collection of Keiko's new and old compositions. Her confidence and skills have made this album one of the best albums of the last decade. I was captivated by her "Saphire" with Paul on Clarinet. This performance is one of its kind and I recommend it to you. It is worth spending that much.

OH,...WHAT A BEAUTIFUL "DOLL", AND TALENTED TOO!
If you've never seen KEIKO MATSUI in concert, here is the difinative answer to your dreams. KAZU MATSUI, her husband/arranger & performer, on movie soundtracks like "Dances With Wolves", has made his wife the new top performer of JAZZ/NEW AGE in this decade. "DOLL" is my favorite album, but the others are growing on me. This video shows the tightness of the group to the extent that Keiko hears the band perform a mistake or harmony extent and reacts to it half-way thru the performance. This is what makes live-to-video a great medium. They could have done with less video boom on the string ensemble with her, but other than that it was great seeing famous areas/places in Japan too! I recommend this for anyone wanting to experience KEIKO up close! Enjoy. The 90 minute video is great. By the way, Keiko is her in Seattle, Aug. 7 1999. So, come on up!
