5 stars Baldur's Gate II rocks and works on Vista
I bought this game after seeing it mentioned in several different "Top Games of All Time" lists.

I'm a fan of more recent games like WoW and Oblivion. So far, this game has held its own. The graphics are dated, but the plot and game mechanics are not. There are also really interesting side quests and puzzles. I find it rare to find puzzles in more recent games that are challenging, but these are refreshingly so.

It also works on Vista - and even with low-end HP computer (with an integrated graphics card) I can play the game on its max settings. I would NOT recommend going over the "supported" resolution, as it makes some in-game maps/menus hard to read.

Get the game while you can!

4 stars A very good classic
I have been playing this game since i was 16 when it first came out.
Basically you can do anything in this game, be anybody, or actually just do nothing. If you get this game i recommend getting throne of bhaal because it makes this game even more fun.

4 stars Baldur's Gate 2: Ultimate Collection (Shadows of Amn and Throne of Bhaal)
I love this game. It's action packed and It takes time and patience to build up your characters in order to defeat this game. A walkthrough comes in handy too. lol.

5 stars My First Video/Computer/RPG Game!
After many years of listening to people talk online about the greatness that is Baldur's Gate, and gaming in particular, I finally decided to pick one up. I had been warned that they are surprisingly addictive, but at 42, and having been game-free since the first Atari came out in the 80s (Think Space Invaders), I was pretty sure I'd only find it mildly interesting.

Oh, was I wrong. Once I had the basics understood, I found myself spending more and more of my free time playing the game. When I'm not playing, I'm puzzling out how to retake some building/tomb/dungeon that I've not yet been able to best. Addictive isn't quite the right word. It's rewritten my basic mental programming. I adore the game!

I started with the Collection -- essentially Baldur's Gate 2. And I've been told that BG1 is better. But I'm not complaining.

If you're like me, and have only played some of the earlier computer games -- there is no comparison. BG is an entire world to explore -- maps and seemingly endless terrain. There's always something you missed, more to explore. And I expect that I'll be wandering the landscape for many months to come.
