Warranty Void with ONLINE Purchase!!
It should be stated clearly that the CHI warranty does NOT cover appliances purchased through the internet or any other outlet. (Only thru a Professional Salon)

I purchased this at the end of June received in July and in mid-September it just stopped working. It's past the 30 return window for a return to Amazon & Farouk will not replace due to the voided warranty. This is only a good price if the item works for an expected period of time.

I'll continue to purchase from Amazon - but will never purchase another Farouk product from any outlet.

Worth the $$$
I have thick, dry, blond hair that is neither wavy nor straight. It doesn't look good unless it is curled or straightend, but before I purchased the CHI iron I rarely did this because it took so long. I was using an iron purchased from a drug store which probably would have been fine for someone with thinner hair, but it was taking me 45 mins. minimum to straighten my hair with it and the results only lasted one day. With the CHI I can really straighten my hair in about 20 mins. and with usually only 1 or 2 passes through the hair which I think means less damage. Since my hair is very dry I only wash it about 2x a week, and my hair stays straight and sleek from the time I iron it until I wash it again. I would highly recommend this iron.

Chi is the ONLY one!
Already knew I only wanted a Chi straightener and was just looking for the best price. I found it here for over half what friends paid for the exact same product - some even more than that! I'm very happy with my purchase.

LOVE IT!
I LOVE this flat iron! My hair is below shoulder lenght, very, very curly, frizzy, and THICK! It's that type of hair that has to be very long to look good curly. It takes me 20 minutes to straighten my hair when it is dry. I wash it in the morning, let it dry during the day (I have no patience for blow drying), then straighten it in 20 minutes (yes, I did time it... several times). Its great! I have two small children and have never had the time to straighten my hair before, but 20 minutes once or twice a week I can handle. IMO it was worth every penny.
Oh, I do use a leave in conditioner and oil type defrizzer to help with the frizzies.

Expensive Piece of Junk without a Warranty
DO NOT BUY A FAROUK FLAT IRON. I recently purchased a Farouk flat iron. After about 5 weeks, it stopped working, so I contacted Farouk to request a replacement. I was told that they do not offer any warranty on items purchased online. So I am stuck with a $100 piece of junk. I will never ever ever buy a Farouk product again. READ THE REST OF THE AMAZON.COM REVIEWS BEFORE YOU BUY. I wish I had. :(
