A great litter box but pricey - can create on own
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R19YZLNBEFX10 I couldn't bring myself to pay $30 for a glorified plastic bin, so I made my own for about 1/3 of the price using a plastic tub (~$7) and a small towel (~$5). I used an Exacto knife (you could also use a small saw) to cut the hole in the lid, sanded down the edges of the hole and covered them with electric tape, and hot glued down the towel (to help pick up stray litter, you could also use a doormat or litter mat). This litter box is the best that I have tried so far. I had a traditional covered litter box before, and I had to sweep out my bathroom floor every day or two. I also tried an automatic scooping litter box, but my cat was afraid of it and refused to use it.
To help my 7 year-old cat adjust, I left his old traditional covered litter box out after I made this one but did not scoop it out, and after about a week, he switched to this new one and seems to love it. And I love it too because I only sweep up litter about once a week now!

This Box Saved Us From Kitty Divorce
I adopted a very sweet cat from a shelter but soon discovered that she was SERIOUSLY lacking litter box skills and etiquette. (Peed up the side of the box, didn't cover, and often left... remnants... outside the box upon exiting.) A covered box seemed like the best option but the lid and bottom didn't seal well and trapped urine in the crevices ( a PAIN to clean!), and a couple of times I even discovered her peeing with butt aimed out the door! As a last ditch effort I bought a top entry box. It seemed a bit pricey for what it was, but I was determined to find a solution, and not give her up. Problem solved. FAR less litter outside the box, EASY to clean, almost NO tracking or dropping of remnants outside the box, and as for the horrible pee issue, well, unless she figures out how to pee straight UP, even she cant get anything outside this box. She seems to like it better too. I'm guessing because the top opening provides better ventilation. There are no crevices so there is less odor. And there's something very comical about seeing your cat's head sticking out of the box. Some cats might not like that but, obviously, pride is not an issue for my cat.

Should have gotten one AGES ago!
Why didn't someone think of this sooner? I have a cat AND a dog, and this litter box solved two very annoying problems:
1) The cat sometimes missed the litter box and ended up piddling on the floor, which resulted in many clean ups and lingering ammonia odors for days afterward.
2) The dog, a terrier mix, thought the kitty litter box was a snack bar.
Now the cat cannot piddle outside the box because she is deep inside with the opening over her head. And the dog is too short and not quite bright enough to get her face into the opening.
Thank you Clevercat!!

You still have to swipe the floor once in a while.
My cat is 1year old. She likes this big litter box.
She likes to play with litter a lot so even though the litter box is spacious, tall, and has a cover, I have to swipe the floor once in a while.
But you definitely worry less.
I like this litter box so far. And I like the fact that it's big.
You know, cat grows fast!

Not a happy kitty
I bought two of these for my 5 cats. They hated it because they had to crawl inside and then stick their head out before they could go. Instead of going in the box they went on the floor so I took the lid off and now 3 of 5 will use it. The walls are also too high for them to use comfortably. I finally bought a large box with a low end at one side and also a breeze box. They pee in the breeze box and poo in the other box with crystals. (highly recommend Tidy Cat crystals and their breeze box!)
