It gets a 3 star because I'm not sure that it is working all that well. It's been 3 weeks and I have not really seen any changes to the filter. The water flows passively through the system, but there is no force pushing the water through the filter per se. So I'm not completely sure it is filtering, rather than just taking the path of least resistance around the filter. but cats are still drinking the water (albeit a bit less than initially) and still prefer it to fresh water in a bowl even after 3 weeks.

Cheaper then the pet store sells them
If you are going to use the Petmate fountain you need these filters- to keep the water fresh. The filters are more expensive in the stores...buy them at Amazon and save $.

Great Product
This product is a great product! I've heard mixed reviews, but my kitty loves it! It doesn't make a loud noise unless it is low on water, but it doesn't scare my cat. I would definitely suggest getting this product for your babies!

Indispensable little item.
This filter is very effective in the Petmate Fresh Flow Watering System - it keeps the drinking water clean and clear of hair and crumbs. I can't be without these little wonders.

keeps water fresh for my boy :)
I truly love the fountain and the filters are a great product for the money ....they are easy to put in and easy to clean and my cat drinks almost every time he passes it which is what the Vet recommended for his kidney problem. Love them.
