Love it!
One of my dogs has very brittle nails. When I would use regular nail clippers it would just cause his nails to splinter and in the end they would be sharper then if I hadn't trimmed them in the first place. He was killing my brand new furniture so much that I had to put down blankets to keep him from doing more damage. Since I purchased this product and used it his nails have been great. No more chipping the grinder files them down and its quick.. He still doesn't like people doing his nails but I like that he's not killing my new sofa any longer..

Worth the Money
My dad suggested that I look at a nail grinder because my Dachshund always cried a little when I would cut her nails even though I never cut the quick of the nail. He said that even though the quick wasn't cut it still contracted causing discomfort. I bought this product and have used it several times and my dog is much more comfortable when I use this tool instead of nail clippers. We LOVE it!

If only they told you how to use it!
I just received this Oster pet nail grinder and I think it will probably work fine if I can just figure out how to use it. I agree with previous reviews that say the directions are poorly written. They don't even tell you which of the drums to use first...grinding stone or sandpaper wheel. And you have to keep trying different twists and turns to get one of them locked into place. I called their customer service number (no email available) and their response was this: "Ma'am, we are not groomers. You would have to ask a professional dog groomer how to use the grinder." So, hopefully my dogs won't freak out with all my experimenting before I get it figured out.

Love my Pet Nail Grinder Kit
Works very good on my doggie, just a little 8 pounder who is very well behaved and will sit while i work on his nails. Tried it on my brother's 85 pound doggie who didnt like it so much, unable to use the item on his doggie! I think this product works well but only if the dog is receptive to it...if you can't get your dog used to the noise and the dust....it doesnt matter how good the product.

Takes a little practice
I bought this for my 2 dogs an Australian Shepherd and a Chihuahua. I got tired of taking my dogs to get their nails clipped at the groomers and paying a fortune and having them tell me that they accidentally cut the quick. At first both of them were afraid of the machine because of the noise it made. They ran away and it was difficult to keep them in one spot so I could work on their nails. It was difficult to chase after them with the cord and having to find an outlet. I did enjoy that with the cord I didn't have to bother charging and recharging the machine. After a while, I was able to groom their nails and they got used to the sound. I thought it was better than the traditional clippers and there were no jagged edges like clippers and I didn't have to worry about cutting into the quick. I would recommend this product as long as you have the patience to use it and let your pets get used to it.
