Avg Customer Rating:
Product Description: With its fully retro design, faithfully reproduced down to the smallest detail, this cherry-red, rubber-wheeled tricycle is an undisputed classic. Apparently they do still make them like they used to. The rugged trike features a chrome front fender; a double-deck, step-in back (so kids can climb onto the smooth metal seat in a snap); red-and-white tassels on the rubber-coated handlebars; a 12-inch-high, steel-spoked wheel; and even an old-fashioned bell. --Paul Hughes

Tricycle review
Product was as described, quality excellent, shipping prompt. A great gift for our 3 year old grandson.

Sturdy Quality and Style
They don't get better-built than this, probably the best constructed one on the market for under %70. Your little one probably won't take to this until he or she is 3, on average...take a look at the writeups on height specifics. Before that get them something plastic, lower to the ground, and propelled only by foot and not pedal. Practice basic common-sense safety (get a helmet for your little one, coach them, guide them as they learn to pedal /corner and do so on flat untrafficed terrain). Assembly is not problematic whatsoever under sane conditions. (Go slink away from the kids to do this & you'll be fine.) It never ceases to amaze me the basic common sense-stuff that folks manage to complain about. We'd definitely buy this again for ourselves, would be pround to give this as a gift, and believe that it provides long-lasting enjoyment!

Review For Radio Flyer Tricycle
I received the tricycle in record time! It was very easy to put together and my grand kids love it!! I would highly recommend it to anyone with small children!

Great, however....
Quality no doubt. However, I almost fainted from the paint fumes while I tried to assemble it indoors. Open this item outdoors and leave it outside. Has been weeks and it still smells.

is teaching my son balance, coordination, and independence
My husband and I purchased this bike for our son when he was about 2 1/2. His feet barely reached the pedals, so we helped him until he got big enough. Now he's 3, his feet reach the pedals, and every couple of days we go for a walk, and he rides his tricycle. He is not a fast kid, so he stays right next to us, and occasionally he does start to tip over, but we usually catch him in time to keep him from getting hurt. He climbs right back on and we go again. We bought a helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads at the same time that we purchased this tricycle, and he wears them EVERY TIME. He is also always within reach when he's on the tricycle.
I have read many one star reviews, and I would agree with them that your child has to be just the right size to ride the bike--perhaps being taller and heavier makes it harder to stay upright, thanks to inertia and wind resistance. I can also see that if your child is more physically inclined and likes to go fast, this would not be the tricycle for you--it's more like a cadillac than a mustang. However, it's been a good, safe tricycle for my son, and has provided him with hours of learning and fun.
One mechanical issue is the bell: the screws have loosened and it hangs beneath the handlebars. This could be more an indicator of my husband's procrastination than anything else, though.
