For the Absolute Beginner, It's a Great Start!
For anyone who would like to learn to play the harmonica in general, blues and/or country harmonica in particular, this video is a great start. For someone who has been learning to play the blues harmonica for the past three months, viewing this video was the best thing for me.

Jon Gindick walks you through the basics of the harmonica (for this video, make sure you have one on the key of C handy), blowing and drawing single notes, discusses the difference between straight harp and cross harp (the style of the blues), teaches you how to play two beautiful songs in straight harp ("Red River Valley" and "Amazing Grace"), and then goes right into teaching you a series of fantastic blues riffs. The video also offers the viewer/student time to practice/jam on his/her own.

I highly recommend it for beginners. Once you've mastered the techniques taught in this video, you might want to check out Jon Gindick's other instructional book/CD sets. For more information, visit his website (...).
