This could stand to be a little TOUGHer...
Whenever the NFL off-season blues set in, I head on out to my fave used-music-and-video joint, hit the bargain bin, and dig out a few NFL Films highlights videos. While I thought it was kinda neat how they profiled the 100 toughest players in NFL history up to the 1995 season-- a list that includes the likes of Jack Lambert, Rocky Bleier, Dick Butkus, and Jim Kelly-- I felt they shoulda devoted a bit more time to the overall presentation. 60 minutes was hardly enough time to give decent coverage on 100 guys, especially when the last ten minutes were devoted to the Top 10. In my opinion, this one shoulda gone about an hour-and-a-half. Another disappointment I encountered with this presentation was the background music; I didn't find the tunes here quite as uplifting or inspiring as those I've heard in other NFL Films presentations. I guess I gotta look at the bright side: I paid less for this than what I would have paid to rent it at the local Blockbuster.
Bottom line: if yer lookin' for a little off-season pro pigskin fix, this one's worth a rental. It ain't a "keeper" by any stretch of the imagination, though...
