5 stars I LOVE this mower!!
What a fantastic mower!! How nice that it came a day early with enough juice to do both my front and back yards (75x135 lot). I can mow my grass at 8am in my new neighborhood without my new neighbors hating me since it's so much quieter than a gas mower.

My only gripe is that I wish the handle was wrapped in something other than foam that tears easily. All in all, a great mower, I definitely recommend it!

4 stars Decent Quiet Mower
I ordered the mower online from Amazon a few weeks ago. Since then I've used it three times over a month and a half, and have overall been pleased with it.

* Bagging is adequate. I didn't experience any problems with it clogging up, though the bag does tend to fill up quickly. On my average-sized suburban lawn, I'll need to empty it at least twice. Not surprising considering it's size. Mulching worked well too, no complaints.
* Runtime is at least a good 45 minutes out of the box. I never managed to run it down, as I always finished by entire lawn in that time without it sounding like it was getting low on a charge. Charge time does take a while, but it's not an issue for me as I leave it plugged in until I'm ready to use it. It turns on/off quickly using a lever on the handle.
* A few people mentioned that the rear rubber cover (for safety from flying debris going back toward you) got caught in the blades. The cover does have a tendancy to fold up on itself and go under when backing up the mower. It hasn't gotten damaged for me though.
* Thick/tall grass does tend to bog it down a bit, but not to the point where it refused to work or didn't complete the job. Just took a bit longer to clip it up.
* Noise was relatively low. It sounds like a box fan turned onto the high setting. A nice plus considering the loud, gas-powered ones my neighbors have. Not having to deal with gas, tune-ups, smell, etc... is a big plus.
* It is self-powered, so you do need to put some muscle into it, as one would expect. On flat terrain it's an enjoyable walk. Uphill it's a little tough, but not unmanageable (male, light build, average height). Still if you aren't strong, a self-propelled would be your best choice, regardless of whether it's electric or not.
* Manufacturer's web site doesn't have much support information on the product. The only place I could find a support number was on the card in the box. Consumer Reports did a review on it if you're looking for other opinions.

I did have an issue out of the box however. When it arrived the height adjustment refused to work - the handle did nothing. Upon detailed examination, there are four small screws with matching nuts that hold the lever to the base. One of those screws snapped in half (presumably in shipping), leaving the handle loose. I wasn't about to ship the whole thing back to Amazon just for a small screw that I could pickup at Lowes for a buck. Which is what I did. That fixed the problem and it's worked well ever since.

Good mower. I'd recommend it. Does have some room for improvement though. Price is a little steep - get it on sale when possible. My reason for purchasing an electric wasn't to "go green" - it was more ease of maintenance, less noise, and cheaper operating costs. All of which it delivers on.

1 stars Earthwise a decided disappointment!
Was very disappointed in this mower. I've used a corded electric mower for years and looked forward to a cordless version when my corded B&D finally died. Much to my surprise after 3 stripes in my lawn it rolled over and died as well!!!
The one high spot of this whole sorry experience was the ease with which Amazon accepted and arranged for the return and refund.

5 stars Best Price
I still use the B&D 875 corded mower and love it for its easy push and quietness for my straight lined backyard. I got tired of the cords for my multiple treed, sloped and weird angled larger front yard. I bought this model (since it was 103 cheaper than the B&D cordless) and had a metal base vs. plastic at Do It Best hardware w/ fs to my local store. Please note Ace Hardware (299.99 w/ fs to store) and HD (317.99) are both out of stock and it doesn't look like either will be in stock anytime soon. It does weigh barely under a 100# and on the upward slopes it does give a little work out. Like numerous others, I'm trying to go as green as possible and I think this really fits the bill. Also in regards to battery replacement, 2 other kind reviewers have suggested different battery brands (BP17-12 or 12v SLA) taping 2 of the 12 volt batteries together w/ the caution of making sure they are correctly wired together to obtain the 24v charge/discharge. It seems like a feasible option vs. trashing the entire mower in a landfill-just remember to properly dispose of the old batteries. I've heard either an auto parts store or in some cities a specific drop off will gladly take the used batteries.

4 stars Great mower! Needs better bagging system.
Mostly, I'm very satisfied with the mower. It started right up out of the box, and it cuts very efficiently, even the weeds at the back of my veg garden. Convenient height adjustment. Really like the metal construction--it has a very solid feel.

But two things bother me. 1. the bottom of the bagger tends to pop up, preventing the grass from entering the bag. I end up with no compostable grass. Very annoying, and I can't find a way to get the thing to stay down consistently and accept the grass.

And 2., it's noisier than I expected, almost as loud as a gasoline mower. But I wear my earplugs and deal with it.

It's not perfect, but I feel much better using it than I did the gas mower.
