Customer Reviews
Just okay
I'm not saying this is a bad product, but my son usually will only give this toy any attention for about three minutes and then moves on to more of his favorites. The toy is very durable though and helps with learning the alphabet and numbers too. It plays a few songs and has a spanish setting which could be good later on. Maybe my son isn't at the right age for this right now which is 15 months.

Stands the test of time
I got this for my baby as a Christmas present. She loves it (and so does my 4 year old). It has been thrown, dropped, rolled downn stairs, and probably other things I'm not thinking of and it still works wonderfully. It is so fun for my girls to play with. Honestly, this is one of my daughters favorite toys (she'll be 1 next month).

Fun musical toy
My daughter really enjoys this toy and so do I. She seemed to understand that you bang on the top right away, and the music catches her attention. The English/Spanish options are great since we're teaching both languages in my household.

Hum Drum
My son received this toy when he was 20 months old. He had more fun playing with the language and volume switches on the side than he did banging on the drum. It didn't keep his interest for more than three minutes.
You have to be sure to turn this toy off when your child is finished with it since it's motion-sensitive and will start singing out of the blue if it gets knocked or someone runs by.

"Drum" is a loose term
My son received this toy for his first birthday. We thought it would be a fantastic learning device for cause and effect (banging = sounds). Instead, we discovered what another reviewer did, and that's how inaudible the actual drum sounds are. There is constant background music on each setting that completely drowns out the drum sounds. If I show him how to hit the drum with his hand, he'll do it for a few seconds. But soon, he walks away because he can't distinguish between the soft drum noise and the rest of the music that is playing and doesn't realize he's doing anything at all. It's a little frustrating, but maybe it'll be of more value to us when he's more familiar with the alphabet. Light show, maybe, but definitely not a "drum."
