Game Storyline
Sure, we've all imagined what it would be like to become a doctor. Years of medical school, residency, and clinic duty eventually pay off in a rewarding position saving people's lives. Or, you could skip all that and just put in a few hours after dinner. Trauma Center puts you in the position of having to make life or death choices at the operating table.

Heart surgery and tumor removal might look easy from the morphine end, but how do you think the doctor feels? Well, you're going to find out! In Trauma Center, patients' lives are in your hands. You'll experience all the drama we've come to expect from the medical field. So go ahead, toss on some scrubs and step into the O.R.--it's time to play doctor.

Gameplay
Trauma Center: Second Opinion, is a robust "Wii-make" of the game "Under the Knife," and features a totally revamped medical toolkit that includes scalpels, forceps, defibrillator paddles, syringes, and more--all designed specifically for use with the Wii Remote.

Other game features include new graphics and animation, new and remixed musical themes, new surgical implements (including a defibrillator), and operation types, a second playable character with all-new missions, multiple difficulty modes for gamers of all skill levels, and a revised control system that takes full advantage of the revolutionary Wii Remote.

2 stars boring unless you like to read
More reading then anything, game was accurate. If you need to cut or stitch didnt matter how straight it was. Got prefects when I hurried or went slow, no difference. Not recommended

4 stars Loads of fun, but there's a steep difficulty curve.
This is one of those excellent, fresh games that there needs to be more of. It uses a really good, fairly new concept, and executes it perfectly. This game does suffer from some insane difficulty, along with a few other quirks, and may not be for everyone.

The graphics aren't exactly stellar. It's essentially hand-drawn manga style art for everything but the surgery itself. During the actual surgeries the graphics are on par with a bad PS2 game graphically. All the menus and such are set up to look very clean and easy to navigate. I find the art to be appealing and pleasing to the eye, and the graphics could use a lot of work but still works, and that's what really matters for a game like this that centers around game-play so much.

The sound work is pretty average. The soundtrack is your typical fast paced, erratic Japanese game soundtrack, nothing stellar but it doesn't detract from the experience either. It speeds up during the more intense parts of the game, which is nice for building the tension/suspense. There isn't really any voice work other than a few quotes. They really could have made the story flow better if they had implemented full voice acting rather than just have you reading text.

The game-play is where this game excels. The Wii-mote and the concept of video game surgery were made for each other, it just works perfectly. The story is pretty dumb, but it keeps things going I guess. There is an insane amount of difficulty once you get to later parts of the game, so be ready for a challenge.

Overall it's an awesome game that deserves at least a rent if you own a Wii. It's really a lot of fun, and different from most other games out there. Just beware of the difficulty and you should be fine. Definitely worth a look.

4 stars Entertaining Gameplay
Recommendation: Rent

Trauma Center: Second Opinion puts the tools of a surgeon into your hands via the wii-mote and nunchuck.

The controls translate fairly well in this game. The Wii-mote is used as your tool, while the nunchuck analog stick lets you select from your arsenal of equipment. You'll need a steady hand to be really good at this game. I found it hard to get anything above a C rating, even on easy. I'm not sure the criteria for getting a better grade, but it didn't effect the fun of the game at all.

The game missions are timed at five minutes each, so the pressure is on to finish your job quickly.

The story cut scenes aren't really animated, but frames in a japanese style. While I didn't mind it, it didn't really grab my interest. I think I would have preferred an actual animated style of story. It has a sort of branching storyline. It's easy to replay missions and toggle difficulty levels without having to leave the storyline screen.

This was a decent game with unique controls well suited for the Wii console.

2 stars Trauma Center Second Opinior/Wii
This game is very fun, until about when you get 8% of the way done, you have to draw a star on the patients chest to slow down time and they say its a magical tuch. It is so retarded I just stoped playing, it is hard to draw the star, and by the time you do you are almost out of time.
It would be a great game but they had to screw it up and waste my money.

1 stars TOO MUCH READING/ACONTROL DIFFICULT
My husband is a physican so I thought he would like this game. There is just too much talking and reading! When you finally get to surgery, the controls are too sensitive especially when it comes to handling the forceps. At one point, when we finally figured out how to handle the controls, time was up and the surgery failed. I think with a little redesign, this game would be fun.
