reliable
I used this guidebook on my recent trip to Arizona. It was accurate and a handy guide to have. It did not, however blaze any trails. What I mean by this is that the author does not uncover many gems, but gives precise information about what is fairly well known. Also, like many guidebooks, does not want to give thumbs down to any tourist attraction. For example, we went out of our way leaving the grand canyon to visit the Cameron Trading Post, which is a quaint sounding name for an overpriced store of Native American handiwork. The author did say that the Trading Post sold some fine and expensive products, but did not say that it is an overpriced tourist trap. Had he wrote this, it would saved us wasted hours.
However I gave the book 5 stars because it did help alot on our trip.
