5 stars This book makes sense!
This book was not easy for me to read, especially the first couple of chapters. But I found the effort very worthwhile, since I can now understand what my doc is talking about. by the end of the book I felt very hopefull, and I still go back to parts of it when I need to remember whats going on. I also felt like I got an insiders point of view. This is a very worthwhile book, Id say.

5 stars An rare, excellent overview for motivated, interested readers
This book, written in very readable form, is an excelletnt volume for those readers who want the inside scoop on biological psychiatry, and are interested in learning about it from the ground up (no science background needed). The chapter on medical conditions which mimic psychiatric disorders is quite an eyeopener. The author includes many case examples that keep the text lively, as well as sharing some of his personal experiences, all of which give you a feel from an insiders perspective. I found this book different than other texts because it actually explains key principles of brain function that go awry in the various disorders. Highly recommended.
