I confess that I've always hated the concept of exercising, much more so actually having to do it. But with Joanie Greggains, it is a completely different story. Forget the ditzy, gorgeous twit who chirps and squeaks her way through the instruction, expecting you to love the "burn" (You know, the type you would just love to strangle). Joanie is a completely different creature. She jokes about "sharpei knees" and "cottage cheese thighs" and doesn't squeak at all. She knows it isn't always easy, and she doesn't pretend you have to love it.
The aerobics portion is primarily low-impact, with modifications for beginners (Or for those who might have some limitations), and a modification for those who might want to take it a little further. There is a plethora of various, interesting movements, so it is very hard to get bored. While the aerobics music is outdated, it is still inspiring, and keeps you moving. And you can laugh at everyone's "big hair."
The toning exercises are gentle, again with modifications for the beginner or the more advanced. The upper body, lower body, and legs are targeted for a complete toning workout.
Finally, there is sound diet advice. Joanie definitely knows her stuff.
By sticking to this program for over a month now, I have lost weight and inches. When I sit, my thighs don't spread out and cover the seat like depressed and collapsing water balloons. I can wear shorts without being ashamed. My body looks great, I have more energy, and I am down two clothing sizes already.
Do I love this video? Yes, I do.
