Shojo Goes Vampire
In many ways, the graphic novel Vampire Knight is like any other vampire story for teenage girls: there's the vampire-human love triangle, the friendly vampires who may become deadly, and the secret truth of the existence of real vampires that must be kept a secret.
Vampire Knight tells the story of Yuki, a freshman at Cross Academy, member of the Day Class disciplinary committee, and guardian of the dark secret about the beautiful and mysterious Night Class. The students of the Day Class don't know it, but the Night Class is actually made up of vampires. Yuki, alongside fellow disciplinary committee member and friend Zero, is charged with keeping peace between the Day and Night classes -and with keeping the human students in the dark about their vampire classmates.
Hino's series fuses together elements of Western vampires with elements of traditional shojo (for girls) Japanese graphic novels. The story has high school romance, effeminate-looking male characters, slapstick comedy, and a strong female main character who stands on the border between the real world and another world.
Knight's artwork isn't anything special compared to most Japanese graphic novels, but the detail of it brings the reader into the unique world of Cross Academy, and there is a great deal of care given to portraying characters and environments in believable ways. There were points were I felt like I had been welcomed into a different place, and the novel became a window into that world.
By far the greatest strength of Vampire Knight was the storytelling. The plot flowed easily between panels, almost like watching a television show. The reader always understood what was taking place in the story, and the movement from panel to panel was natural and easily comprehensible.
For readers who do not normally pick up graphic novels, Knight is an easy story to get into and keeps the reader flipping pages.

A fun read
This is everything formula. You have your love triangle. You have your deep secret, your students with power and dangerous secrets. It's been done a million times, but that's because it works. This particular incarnation is done very well. The characters are enjoyable, the story is clever, and the plot twists (more in upcoming volumes than the first) are suitably stunning.
For a pleasing romp, you won't go wrong with this book.

Check out the series!!
Vampire Knight is a Great story of Love,Drama, and action.
It starts off kind of like " Oh not another one of these school love childish movies". But surprisingly I after watching the third episode I was actually shocked. I wanted nothing but to keep watching. Now I know that usual books are better than the actaul show/movies/series so I can only imagine how great the books must be! There are a few websites that have the series for free, they are not dubbed and are strictly subtitled. They will not dub this series in English untill Late 2009 to early 2010!Honestly It is totally worth just watching it subtitled. Honestly. This series is not cheezy and is more than just simple love and life. It shows how Yuuki has some hard decision's to make while trying to be the best she can to the people she loves. She will need to decide which one is more of a friend than a true lover. While Zero is fighting the evil inside of him, hoping and wishing that he doesnt turn out into the one he Kills!. He is the tough guy that wants no help from anyone but yet he see's Yuuki some how different from everyone. Than you have Kaname the Pure Blood , Though everyone is scared of him he is so loving toward Yuuki like an older brother....Or is he more? I dont want to spoil everything so that is all I am going to say. I would say no one under 14 should watch this only cause there is blood and weapons. No Nudity or cursing I think I heard Sh** once but I think thats it....Oh and Bi*** is in there also. Great Series so It HAS to be a great book! Enjoy :)

Vampire Knight manga
This is a great manga volume to start off with if you are a new-to-the-world-of-manga reader. I have read the series up to it's current chapters and it is great for any reader looking for that nearly angsty, high school confusion and romance, and a little bit of a love triangle all rolled into one. What makes it even more of a great story is that it's all of the things above plus, most of all the major characters are vampires. It is a really good manga as well as series, I would definitely say to anyone that it is worth a look!

Vampire Knight
Really fun series. If you like vampires, this series contains all kinds of good drama, romance, angst and general fun. The plot really develops as it goes so don't be fooled into thinking it's just going to be another silly high school drama.
