Product Description: This tape includes his entire presentation from Bass Day '98. Accompanied by guitar and drums, he presented a set of amazing music that stretched from the serious thunder funk of "U Can't Hold No Groove" to classic performances of "Amazing Grace" and "Norwegian Wood". Victor is joined on stage in a finale, by the great Oteil Burbridge. Victor also discusses his thoughts about music as a language, the tradition of the electric bass and he provides a brilliant lesson on bass technique, including exercises for developing his new staccato thumb/multiple pluck technique. An amazing performance filled with plenty of instruction. Running Time: 80 Minutes

A Must Have
This DVD is excellent. If you love the Bass Guitar at any level, and want to become more inspired and creative, check this DVD out. Victor and his brother show how much fun as well as serious playing Guitars can be. I am learning bass and am very glad to have purchased this item. I definitely recommend a copy. Keep the Funk alive.

If you like Victor Wooten, you need this DVD
I just got done watching this and WOW! I have had his Bass Extremes video for a few years and watched it a number of times and I thought it was excellent until I saw this (it is really good, but this just is much more about Victor Wooten and his technique and style).
In a Q&A session Victor explains his unique technique over almost 10 minutes and your really get a feel for how he is doing it (and WOW!). This DVD is worth SO much more than I paid for it just for the Q&A session alone. Plus the things that he talks about in that are very relevant for all musicians, not just bass players.
My opinion of Victor Wooten went up after watching this DVD, which I did not think was possible.

Great Video - Great Bass & Guitar
The video is excellent for any bass player. Victor goes over his slap technique in a very easy-to-learn manner. It's awesome just to watch him in action. Now that his tab book is out the video will also be a good reference for learing some great tunes such as "Amazing Grace" and "Norwegian Wood."I also want to reply to a completely ridiculous comment made saying that Regi was "terrible." I have seen Regi live as well as on this DVD and Victor Wooten's VHS Bass Technique video and you have to be completely devoid of any musical appreciation and recognition of skill, for that matter, to say Regi is terrible. In my and MANY peoples opinion Regi is without a doubt one of if not the finest electric guitar players out there. I would put him up against Satriani, Malmsteen, Patrucci, Anastasio...anybody. I myself am primarily an electric guitar player and Regi is absolutely incredible. It really aggravates how someone can make such an ignorant comment about this incredible person and musician. Anybody playing with Victor Wooten is going to be world-class...including J.D. Blair, Joseph Wooten, Derico Watson, Divinity...especially the person who taught him how to play...which is Regi. Anyway, this video is worth every penny. I encourage anyone to go check out the Victor Wooten band if they are playing in your area. The Flecktones are awesome but Vic playing with Regi and Joseph and JD or Derico is absolutley incredible.

Awesome insights into Vic's playing style & technique
Before I purchased this dvd I had read reviews that said it was a great dvd but not to buy it if you were looking for vic to show you how to play like him. Having watched the dvd many many times since then I have to DISAGREE. Just watching this monster in action has given me more tricks & insights into how to do many of the thing he does. Taking the sound I once thought were magic and impossible and making me see that they are not impossible or magic just hard to do (ie require lots of practice). I highly recommend this dvd to anyone especially if you are like I am, not having any exposure to good bass players. We learn from each other so we need to watch each other play. I would say that just from watching Vic play (& practicing) my skill level has double over the past 6 months, and I've been playing for 8 years now.
