3 stars Stone Cold Returns & Kurt Angle Wins The Big One
My addiction to old WWF continues as I relived another event from the solid 2000 era. To catch old fans up, this event marked the in-ring return of Stone Cold Steve Austin, who was run-over at the Survivor Series the year before, to exact revenge on the man who did it. That man turned out to be..Rikishi but the Rattlesnake vows No Mercy. On top of that, Kurt Angle looks to end his impressive rookie year with WWF Gold challenging The Rock.

Dudley Boyz Table Invitational. This was a good opener but some of the teams involved in this match you really did not care about & on top of that there were a few botched spots involving tables. Still, it did it's job in pumping up the crowd.

Lita & The A.P.A vs Trish Stratus & T&A. Don't let the title fool you, this match never happens as Test & Albert take out the A.P.A. backstage & along with Trish beat on Lita till the Hardyz make the save. Could have been saved for RAW than a PPV.

Steel Cage Match: Chris Jericho vs X-Pac. At this time, the cage match was being overused & like their Unforgiven match, it could have stolen the show but it didn't. The match was average at best but this remembered for X-Pac's injury when he gets back-dropped into the cage.

Chyna & Billy Gunn vs Val Venis & Steven Richards. The crowd was not into this match as much as most of RTC's matches but that was probably because the action was nothing special. I would have preferred the originally scheduled Eddie Guerrero/Billy Gunn IC Title contest but Eddie's injury prevented it. However, he makes a special appearance here.

No Holds Barred: Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Rikishi. The action starts off crazy as Austin & Rikishi exchange shots & brawl all over the arena & even in the crowd. Look out for the moment where Stone Cold takes J.R.'s hat, puts it on & hits Rikishi with a chair. Things get extreme as the finish occurs when Austin drives off with Rikishi in the truck, places him against the wall & attempts to run him over before the police arrive & arrest Austin. I have to admit that this was entertaining even though it was not much of a match & it never ended.

WWF European Champion William Regal vs Naked Mideon?? This is where you want to hit the fast forward button because this was pointless & just plain horrible.

WWF Tag Team Champions The Hardy Boyz vs Los Conquistadors. Again, don't be fooled by the title. It's really Edge & Christian under the golden outfits & in the process we get a fast paced back & forth tag team match that brought the event back from where it was before the last match.

Triple H vs Chris Benoit. A little history lesson here. Remember back in 2004 when WWE said Triple H has never defeated Benoit; they must have forgotten about this match. Anyways, a great wrestling match between these two that would start off slow but it would pick up & become something special. Even the interference from Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley could not ruin this one.

No Disqualification: WWF Champion The Rock vs Kurt Angle. The No DQ stipulation was added when Kurt Angle was making his entrance...don't ask why. These two went at it hard around ringside & it even went to the entrance way & it resulted in both men getting busted open in the process before it settled in the ring where Angle gave Rock one of his best wrestling matches (After their No Way Out clash). There is a lot interference from Stephanie & eventually Triple H but the one that mattered was the surprise interference of Rikishi who "accidentally" cost Rock the title allowing Kurt Angle to be the first man to do it all in one year & become the new WWF Champion.

Overall, this show was really above average as some of the matches were average (Jericho/X-Pac, Dudleyz Invitational), bad (RTC Tag match & the six person tag match never happened, Regal's boring contest) & just put over storylines (Austin's return needed a finish even if the storyline made sense). But the last three matches saved the show for me so I would recommend this event at a cheap or low price.

3 stars i was impress with the rock vs kurt angle match
rock vs kurt angle
a very good match despite it contain many interfences from the very young and pretty stephanie mcmahon, hbk of 2000 hhh, and talented big man riski i no spelled wrong but other that the interefence the match was off the rates kurt and rock both brawled througout the no mercy arena hitting banging eachother against hard objects from the no mercy ppv display going through walls, getting hit by cameras, using the ring post, and kurt at one point use the wwf title i usually get upset when a wrestle do that but fort this type of match i found it ok this was more of a street fight than a regular i only saw the highlights of the match not the entire thing but i was really impress at what i saw kurt even did his trademark move the moonsault which u rarely see him do and the rock did his famous ddt move this look to be like a very good match i can't wait to see the entire match then i can be able to rate wisely but for now it my guess of rating this match is around the *** to ****+ level

4 stars The Kurt Angle Era Has Began!
2000 NO Mercy
October 22, 2000
Pepsi Arena
Albany, New York

Dudley Boyz Tag Team Table Elimination Invitational:
Dudley Boyz V. Right To Censor V. Tazz & Raven V. Too Cool V. Lo Down
Good opener. Could have been alot better. Yeah, like the Dudleyz are going to lose their own Invitational? **3/4

Acolytes & Lita V. Tes, Alber, & Trish
This match never happened. Lita just got the hell beat out of her.

Steel Cage Match:
Chris Jericho V. X-Pac
This was the 3rd Cage Match in 4 months. Can you say, "overusing of a match." Again, like their Unforgiven match, this one could have stole the show, and again, it didn't. This match was ok until the end. Jericho wins. ***1/4

Billy Gunn & Chyna V. Steven Richards & Val Venis
This match sucked. Right To Censor (Steven & Val) win. **

No Holds Barred Match:
Stone Cold Steve Austin V. Rikishi
This match never ended. The whole match Austin kicks Rikishi's ass and then the cops show up "just in time" to safe Rikishi from being ran-over by Austin.

WWF European Championship:
William Regal (Champion) V. Naked Mideon
um...Regal wins and why did Mideon even agree to this gimmack? **

WWF Tag Team Championship:
Hardy Boyz (Champions) V. Los Conquistadores
I wonder who the Conquistadores are. Anyways, this match was great and very action paced. The Conquistadores (Edge & Christian) win the Tag Titles. ****

Triple H V. Chris Benoit
Remember last year when Triple H has never defeated Chris Benoit?...They must have forgotten about this match. This match was great, but the Iron Match Match was their best match that they had together. Yes...Triple H does win. ****

WWF Championship:
The Rock (Champion) V. Kurt Angle
Awesome match. This match had a great story to it and Angle finally wins the WWF Championship! ****1/2

Overall, a pretty good show. The Austin/Rikishi match could have had an ending but didn't. Angle title win was awesome but he should have held it atleast until WrestleMania.

5 stars i cant wait
i cant wait to get this im have to get this ppv it looks so awsome i mean a cage match a tag team turmoil with tables and the rock vs. kurt angle with no dq.if your a true wwe fan you should get this pay per view to.

5 stars The Rookie beats The Champ!!!
Capping an amazing rookie campaign, Kurt Angle upset The Rock at the No Mercy pay-per-view to capture his first WWE Championship. Angle's reign lasted four months. Over those four months, Angle proved his worth as WWE Champion by Beating the likes of Triple H and the Undertaker, live on pay-per-view. Angle even successfully defended his championship in a six-man Hell in a Cell Match at Armageddon 2000 that also featured Stone Cold, The rock, Undertaker, Rikishi and Triple H.
