Customer Reviews
The Weather Channel WS-9043TWG Wireless Weather Station with Heat Index
Product arrived promptly. Instructions fairly clear and unit works well. Although brightness may be adjusted, gray background makes reading some functions difficult unless viewed in a very bright area. Except for this I am satisfied with the product.

Kaput after 2.5 years
After about 2 1/2 years of very good service, our unit developed 2 problems: poor communication with the transmitter, and wacky displays of indoor temperature (100+, and it's not that hot in here!). The company says the transmitter is weakening, and suggested buying another. The odd temp readings are "rare," and their only suggestion was to make sure we're using fresh batteries (we are). Looks like we're getting a new one.

Very pleased!
I had wanted something like this for a long time, and when I finally bought one last week, I've been very impressed. I like the fact that it displays the dew point temperature and the heat index. The unit & the remote sensor work well together, and the advertised 300 ft signal, follows the unit around wherever I place it in the house. The memory function is handy as well, but you must clear the readings individually on a daily basis if you wish to keep track of them in an orderly way. If you don't, the coldest or warmest reading will stay "locked in" until that temp is broken in either direction. The memory also keeps track of humidity and the other readings as well. The units forecasting ability is also very good. Case in point; for the last 4 days the weather here has been mostly sunny & very warm. The unit began forecasting rain 4 days ago! --- as of tonight, we're having heavy thunderstorms! And...as of tonight, it's graphic has changed to partly sunny, which is what we've been told to expect in the next 24 - 36 hours!

Arrived Damaged
In another review I lamented that this weather station is not for apartment dwellers since the remote sensor cannot fit in a window like other sensors. Since writing that review, I have come to the conclusion that my model arrived defective since the atomic clock does not register.
I tried calling their toll call customer service and was put on hold but only to be ultimately told by a recording that someone would get back to me. This is the worse kind of customer service: 1) you have to pay for it via toll calls and 2) they are apparently so swamped with complaints that there is no one to help when needed.
Also, when I called their support I discovered that my Weather Channel station was actually made by Lacrosse. Don't bother paying a Weather Channel premium when the others seem to be cheaper.
Just a postnote while waiting to ship this product back --- 48 hours have passed and I still have not heard back from their online support...

Works well but a little disappointed
I bought this weather station with the understanding that it would tell me what the weather would be like the next day. It does tell if it will get worse or better outside but not if it will rain or what the temperature will be like.
On the other hand, it gives an accurate posting of the temperature outside with a good range for the remote and also gives a good heat index. It is neat how you can add another remote and switch to that temperature as well.
Definitely a good product but the description is a little askew.
