5 stars Fun for the whole family
This is one of the only games that my entire family likes(including the adults) It reminds me of the game Jenga. It is also easy to play if you are not very coordinated with the controllers, like me. My kids usually get tired of the games very easy but this one is holding strong. My 10 year old says "Mom it is so good because there is no way to beat it and it never ends"

5 stars Grandkids love it
I was looking for a fun game for my pre-teen grandchildren to play when they visit. I slipped Boom Blox into the stack of games they already have. It took them about 10 seconds to discover the new game and the excitement began. They would have played the game non-stop for the rest of the day if their parents didn't insist they take a break to eat and get some exercise. Judging by their excitement and desire to play Boom Blox the game is a five star hit. My interest was piqued after watching them play, I think I will shake a Wii controller at my TV the first chance I get. Who knows? I might be a worthy opponent for the young'uns.

Excellent game. Lots of different action for all ages.

5 stars so addictive it should be a drug
*Warning the first paragraph is a story explaining how addictive this game is, so if you're not interested in the story skip to the second paragraph.

I just picked this game up today, it is so much fun!!! I played through the training levels then asked my fiance if she wanted to try so she went through the training levels, then played for about two hours before I finaly asked if I get a turn. She hesitantly gave it up so I played for about an hour then made dinner. While I was making dinner she was playing it, I asked her to stir what was on the stove as I went down to the grill to put the meat on. I came back up she was still sitting there playing it and never stirred it. Then I went to take a nap before work because I work third shift and she said she played it until about a half an hour before I got up. The funny part is she really doesn't like or play video games... so needless to say it's pretty addictive!!!

There is a few different types of puzzles in this game. The first is to use a ball to knock down all the gems blocks in as little amount of throws as possible. The second is you grab the blocks and knock down the others for points, sometimes while avoiding blocks that minus points from you. There is also a Jenga style game where you need to carefuly remove blocks with out making something on top fall. The last threet I have come across are there are bombs that you need to make a chain reaction to take out the blocks in as few throws as possible.the There is also void blocks and chemical blocks. The void blocks disapear dropping any block on top of it off smashing it on the ground. The chemical blocks you need to combine two together to make a chemical reaction.

Sounds easy right? Not at all there are a lot of really challenging puzzles in this game from what I have read there is almost 400!!!
It's a really fun game that makes you try to examine the puzzles from different angles and try to complete the puzzle with the least amount of throws, the most points or or the quickest time. During the game you unlock new characters, levels, items, and things to design with.

The party mode is also really fun I only got to play the versus mode and the throwing game in it. You and the other players try to knock down the blocks hitting them into a multiplier wall that makes your score bigger depending on the amount you hit. My fiance and I had so much fun playing this mode together.

There is also a level builder mode that I haven't had a chance to play yet but from what I hear is alot of fun. I heard you can start from scratch or import a previously made level. When I play it I will update my review.

All in all this is a really fun game. Pepole of all ages can enjoy this game. I think it will actually replace Super Smash Brothers, Mario Kart and Wii Sports which my friends and I play a lot, so if you like puzzle games check it out!!!

4 stars Jenga on every drug known to man
Boom Blocks starts with a fairly basic premise; there are these blocks, and they're stacked on top of each other. With me so far? Now, knock them over!

OK, it gets more complicated than that, but that does sum up a good chunk of it.

There are exploding blocks, blocks that blow up when they touch each other, blocks that disappear when they get hit, blocks worth different values, all kinds of blocks! And you throw things at them! Baseballs, tennis balls, super balls, bombs, lots of stuff! Or you pull them out. Every move is dependent on the Wii's motion controls.

And it works! They made this simple premise really work! It's fun if you're a gamer, it's fun if you're not a gamer, it's just a lot of fun! You can even build your own levels, or add exclamation mark after exclamation mark to your review of the game!

Yes, over excited, but it really is a great game. One shortcoming though. It's ironic since Spielberg was attached, but there are a couple story lines, and it all seems very tacked on. I mean, the game is a lot of fun without adding anthropomorphic block-animal characters. It's just really hard to buy any sort of story-line that suggests that throwing baseballs at piles of blocks is an intrinsic part to said story line. Still, demon-monkey-blocks kind of make it worth getting through story mode.
