4 stars Lots of fun, but a little short
This was loads of fun. The boss battles were great. Playing against Tom Morello and Slash was a blast. If you like any of the Guitar Hero games or even Rock Band, this is worth your time. I would get it on sale like I did.

The only cons I can think of are it's really, really short. I beat the game in about four hours. Yes, I can replay some of the songs and try to unlock some others, but the game has been "beaten" so I'm not sure how much replay value there is.

The second con is the set list at the higher stages is a little heavy on metal songs. I don't mind playing some staples like One by Metallica and Paranoid by Black Sabbath, but some of the others were too heavy for a more mainstream taste. Not so much that I wouldn't buy the game, but I did finding myself going back to lower levels just to mix it up before I tried moving on.

But overall, lots of fun.

5 stars This game rocks
The Guitar Hero game series may be the best thing to ever happen to video games. Finally, a game driven by musical interest that teenagers love to play. My 13 year old had to be told to turn it off every day, but at least he was developing an ear for music as well as his hand to eye coordination. It is very refreshing to find a game teenagers love that doesn't include guns, cars, and violence.

5 stars Another winner
Like the music selections better, and like the frst and second issues, his shouldn't fall under the category of Video "game". It takes so much more hand/eye coordnation than the average video game. Watching the competitions is almost as much fun as being at a live concert. Beieve me, when the song is done, the players are sweating. So this is a great video game that gets the kids up off the couch and moving, even if they don't know it!

5 stars Damnit it's addicting... but fun
Games, fun... nothing really different from GH2 just different songs and a couple extra bells and whistles... still it was a good buy.

4 stars A sharp contrast to Rockband
Basically, GH3 is for hardcore rhythm game fans. Many knock the game for the things it doesn't share with RB(full set of instruments, less dowloadable content) I will celebrate the differences. You wouldn't want 2 of the same game out there. GH3 is much more difficult than RB and offers more guitar centric tracks(for obvious reasons) Suprisingly, GH3 out trumps RB in forms of difficulty progression and actually telling a story. In RB you basically play songs in different locations until you see the end credits. I didn't even realize the last song of the game was the final song because it was just as difficult as the rest of the songs. You won't make that mistake in GH3. The final 3 songs are probably the hardest time ive had with the genre( even on normal) and the Dragonforce song that plays during the credits is unbelievable. I like the story in GH3. I wont spoil it but you basically go from rags to riches to infamy. All in all, at some points the game seems too hard and the play list is kind of hit or miss. All in all GH3 is worth a buy if you find RB too easy.
